@@kristinesugala4492lonely and boredom are just the side effects the real problem is that it's a harsh climate and it takes a special understanding of the climate and toughness in order to survive. There are many other places on Earth where this person could live and they would have peace and quiet they wouldn't necessarily need to pick somewhere in the north of Finland

In 1989 I was hiking in Finland in july. I was there for 3 weeks because at the end of my hike I had an european Archery competition in a place east of Helsinki. I started at Romanievie and use youth hostels. I had tyhe most wonderful hike up to the north Inari and had my sauna and swimm in the lake. I felt like I was the first living being of creation. There was nobody. The horizon and te sky were completely empty of anything a human could make or do. No airplane stripes, no church spires no houses. Just nature. Nature was so unique presenting a soft springy carpet to make walking like flying and the trees no higher than your knees you felt like a giant. It was warm at night 27 C and the sun always in the same place of aha coffee time. I could even go gold digging with a pan in te river and sleep in a wooden tny house with a fire. Putiing back wood the next day for my next guest. I felt I would like to live there for the rest of my life. My ancesters coming from somewhere there in the north must have wakened a few dna in me. On th way down back direction of the sportsevent I went into many other interesting nattute reserves near te Russian border. I could just walk acros if I wanted to, but no. I had my competition and arrive there on time. Finland is so so large. So once I took a train because on subdays you have no transportation an walking too far. Som km by lifting but that was not a big help as to teducing the distance. But finaly I ended up in Helsinki in the old Olympic housing which is now a hostel. And yes I wa son time for the internatinel competition which went well. I got some prize. The others of my group from Holland had taken my gear and bow. So I can r Finland, no matter which place it is all brautifull and interresting.

It's so much fun to see the landscape there. I live in the US near Lake Superior, where a lot of people settled from Finland. We have a lot of the same berries, flowers, moss, lichen and trees that you have. Historically our houses, canoes and many other things were made from birch bark, so likewise there are not a lot of ancient material artifacts, other than small, practical objects made from copper or stone. Oh, and we have brutal mosquitos, too!

Sanna, your film was captivating. We are an Anglo Dutch couple living near Arnhem in a village called Oosterbeek in the Netherlands. We have two daughers in their late 20's called Sanna and Freya. Spiritually we possibly are very similar; I am a Sibelius freak, and it was certainly nature that inspired him. We love Scandanavian art, and have visited a beautiful art gallery in Skagen at the northern tip of Denmark. The vast areas of forest and tundra around you, must have been very influential in the formation of your character. You must be tolerant to be able to stand those mosquitos, although you say you will never get used to them. Good luck with the house hunting. There are housing shortages everywhere. Good Luck Brian...PS Great English. I presume you speak Finnish, but Swedish also?
