I’ve just bought all 3 of the M&m books and they are beautiful! I really love their patterns. I have just cut out the Gyro top (not in the books). I am going to give the trouser a go.

Nice review - thank you! I purchased this book a few weeks back and, yes, it is a very beautiful book. I am yet to make my first garment from it but I'm eyeing up the Heron Wrap Top or possibly the Curlew Dress as a first make.

I love layers too! And I live in the coldest part of Australia where it snows on the beaches. However, summer is super hot and it always takes me by surprise. I looked into buying the Merchant and Mills Workbook but the patterns seem quite simple and I felt like I might be buying patterns that I already own or could draft easily. It is such a pretty book though. Have you worked with the BurdaStyle books? I just bought BurdaStyle Wardrobe Essentials and the patterns are quite complicated/unique. Slightly nervous about using them.

+Priya Kitchener I've not used the BurdaStyle books, but I've made a few patterns from the magazines. The magazine patternsheets are pretty scary, with about 20 patterns all overlaid on one sheet, so I resorted to a highlighter to make sure I traced the right one! If you have quite a diverse pattern collection already it is possible that the M&M patterns may just duplicate what you have - my pattern stash is still relatively small, and so I found that this book filled the hole for decent, slightly challenging basics.

I think it's your screen more likely, but if you're worried about your eyes, please do go see your GP.
