Hey Richard! Director here, Marianne Cheng, and I am SO glad you enjoyed this rendition of "Because." These kids were INCREDIBLE musicians, and worked so hard to shape and polish each [loooong] phrase. The breath control is tough in this one! The truth is, in the arrangement, I mostly used exactly what Lennon, McCartney, and Harrison sang, because it was pretty much perfect* as it was. We just took those harmonies and sang them with a choral approach. *The only downside about this song is it forces people with low voices up high, up to an F above Middle C a lot of the time! Needless to say, my baritones and basses got a LOT of falsetto practice that week 😀 Many of these high schoolers here are in college or graduated now, and some even pursue music as auditioning actors and/or songwriters! I must say as well, Elijah Fox on Piano did an INCREDIBLE job, lifting the simple arpeggios off the page and giving it his signature touch. He's now an [internationally-touring] jazz artist, collaborator, and producer. He's very findable online, I would go check him out! #elijahfox #communitychorusproject #holycrap5yearsalready

I don't believe I have skipped a day since Feb. 9, 1963 without thinking of the Beatles. In the past 14 years my appreciation, gratitude, and awe have only grown. A dear friend of mine from the music industry is greatly responsible for taking me to an even higher level of admiration in those 14 years. Most Beatles songs stand alone as individual greats. Because sounds like Bach channeled through John. It's ether that or G-d. Goosebump material. The Beatles are the indisputable #1 Musical/Cultural and perhaps Political influence of the 20th century and beyond. They were an Economy as well. The bird chirp at the end was perfect, right on cue! This is beautiful, soulful performance. John is looking down and smiling. Thank you

Fifty two years since "Abbey Road" was released. And it still shines like a beacon among all the dross that's been put out since.

I loved watching the young peoples faces as they sang …. Especially the ones who really felt the song as opposed to just singing the notes 👍🏻

Hauntingly beautiful. Such a simple, clean arrangement, sung by a chorus of angels. Bravo!
