Summer Vlog in France - Local escapades - Living room Renovating

A little summer Vlog , did many walks and hikes with friends in the mountains above my city in le Parc Régional du Pilat, I'm also renovating my Living room these days , you will see the final result at the end of the summer, had been given, many very old beautiful linen bed sheets all made by my great great grandmother.
Enrollments for the Halloween Workshops are open till october 31.

Oh my! Those inherited linen, collars, shirts etc. are the treasures! Wow, your apartment is amazing. The height of the walls and crown molding is not a common occurrence here in the states with apartment living.

Thank you Roksanna, yes they are real treasures !maybe in American Victorian houses and appartments you have those too sometimes, but yes they are probably rarer.

That's for sure Yes it's sad , those treasures need to fall into good hands. At least brocante dealers can sometimes see their beauty and value when family members are totally blind to their beauty. Thank you I'm making good progress, you will see that soon ; )

All the linen, how beautiful. It must be about 100 years old, and it looks very good. Seeing you painting your room, remember that I must paint my room too.I wanted to do this in this summer, but first it was too hot and now I take care for a small dog in the holiday. 1 Dog takes more time then all my animals together. But he is very sweet. Succes with your rooms.

We did an outing to an island today and took a beautiful ferry boat ride. We have to use all the sunny days as much as possible because summer comes and goes so quickly. Luckily you love lace and old linen. Such treasures. Many young people nowadays don't like the work involved. Same with silver polishing. I worry a bit about the future of old beautiful things. I bet the gold accent will do just what you want it to do. Look like it's been always there🍃.

That's good to do a ferry escapade! Yes it's true But i think the good news is there are more options for those of us who appreciate them yes I don't know a lot people around who like to polish silver or iron their bed sheets, it's true, though It's sucha great way to appreciate all the details and have them at their best. ❤ Lovely! If you want to have a stronger gold effect, you first have to paint a red base coat. For silver, your base coat would be blue.

Yes it is so precious to be able to enjoy these family treasures maybe even better thantheir previous owners, this great aunt for example never used them and thought her grandmother was wasting her time embroiding them for her,,but I fully appreciate and enjoy the work she did, having them on my bed is going to be very special! Beautiful video as always. Cant wait to see your apartment when you finish ( and your kitchen ). I have very high ceilings- living in a victorian flat, and last summer decided to paint them all - when applying the fresh white paint - it was a big shock to see how dirty yellow they were.😂. Xxx

You need and undercoat for gold paint. If you paint gold paint over white it will take many coats to achieve color. Thats true for most metallic paints

Thank you for this advice!It makes sense ! If I want a more intense gold I will do that but I think a light version will work better.

A tip for using the painters tape is to first paint along the edge of the tape in your base color - in your place it would be white. Let that dry and paint the next color, when you pull the tape away the line will be perfect. The base color helps disguise any irregularities.
