It really isn’t that hard I live in a very cold place that’s rural and once you get used to it it’s not that big of a deal. There’s a lady from Main who comes to where I am and swims clear out into the river next to the ocean. It’s just all adjusting to things.

When I lived aboard a boat we had electric blankets on low all of the time in our bunks, it was always damp aboard so the little warmth kept the bedding dry. Your boat is so cozy and nice!

My family and I LOVE Puerto Rico! We've been 3 times. Our favorite beach is Playa Sucia. It's the nicest water my son had ever swam in. One day, we will eventually try to get to Culebra. We are from Washington State and we don't swim here. It's too cold. I can't imagine swimming in water as cold as in this video 😬. Man, I could go for an empanada, ceviche and some sangria Gasolina!

Two weeks ago, we went to a remote camping ground in northern michigan on Lake Superior. The water and air were the same temp (under 45 degrees F) as in the area were Cecilia is swimming. And our winds were 25 mph. Buttttt our clothes weren’t warm enough and we suffered so much 😂 Trips to cold areas are only fun if you dress appropriately. Cecilia, you should do a cold weather clothing haul. I would really appreciate it.

We have black bears in the southeast of the US. They aren’t as dangerous as polar bears. But they are still dangerous. I remember waking up one morning to a noise outside my bedroom window. I looked out and my dad must have forgotten to bring in the bag of dog food from the night before because the biggest black bear I have (still) ever seen was sitting up against the screen door (the noise that woke me up) and was sitting there eating the dog food by the handfuls like it was potato chips and just looking around like he was having the time of his life. I wish I had a video camera back then (it’s been over 20 years ago). Black bears have also figured out how to open car doors so we have to keep the windows up and the car doors locked. They will destroy a car because they often get closed in and can’t figure out how to get back out. I have sooo many stories about black bears but I think this comment is long enough… lol!

I had a bear remove the window screen (gently remove, not smash through), open the freezer door, take a container of leftovers, leave through the same window he entered with the food. Left the empty container outside. No damage-- it was a very dainty bear! So many bear stories, too!

🇨🇦 it's actually sad that the waters not still frozen. Scientists are saying that it's affecting the polar bears horribly. They are starving and awfully under weight. Even their reproduction systems are being affected. Polar bears, alot of them used to have 3 cubs. Now because of hunger, and malnutrition most are having just 1 or 2. Rarely are their 3 anymore. It's so sad what mankind has/is doing.

I'm currently vacationing in Fairbanks, Alaska. I now completely understand how your body never wants to shut down when it's the midnight sun season. It was cloudy one day and I was getting ready for bed, and around midnight, the sun finally came through the clouds. For some reason, that completely re-energized me and I had the worst time falling asleep, even with my blackout curtains. Your body isn't telling you it's time to go to sleep because it's always daylight.

I love winter but the thing is I've never experienced real winter 😂 Where I live the temperature doesn't drop below 0°c in peak winter season and in summer the mercury hits 50°c some days. It's hard to love summer when going out in the day time is a revolting thought. Everyone prefers to stay indoors between 12-2/3 pm because it's so hard dealing with the heatwave. I love traveling to colder places. Snow makes me so happy but living full time in a cold place is probably a lot different but I wanna do that once.

This is the second video I have watched on your channel. I have no idea how 'couple lives close to North Pole' ended up in my YT feed. I'm glad it did! It's so interesting how we are all so fascinated with the cold. There are other videos on YT about the coldest village on Earth where it gets -70 degrees in Yakutia!! Their lives look so depressing. There's no color. Cars run all day and night for fear of the engine freezing. No refrigeration bc it's so cold. Looking @ your life looks way more inviting bc you actually live a very well-rounded life. It's a mystery how you do it. I am always cold! I've been really struggling because my dog had to be put to sleep on May 31st due to cancer, I miss her so much, she was my best friend and constant companion as my emotional support dog for my trauma PTSD & anxiety. For people who want to take a hot shower after cold water dipping: Be careful with the temperature of the hot water. Because your receptors are numbed by the cold water you might not be able to judge how hot the water of the shower actually is and maybe burn yourself. Other than that it definitely has quite some health benefits. Check out Susanna Soeberg, she is doing excellent research on the effects of cold water exposure.

I spent every summer on a boat in Canada and i was always so afraid of bears coming on board..... and then the did, quite few times! But they were just black bears Not polar bears... how scary!

@@Pop-zb3wr I said "Seemed". I stated I tuned into Cecilia's videos so am familiar with Christoffer's demeanor in these videos. This video felt different. He was giving off uncomfortable vibes. When he was not quiet, his responses screamed annoyed. Cecilia on the other hand is a joy to watch and listen to. Usually, Christoffer is interesting to watch as well. Quiet and reserved is a good thing.

What beautiful country you get to live in ! My Great Grandfather and his brother moved from Norway to America in the 1870's. I've never left the US to travel so thank you for sharing your life experiences.
