How and where did Christoffer and I meet? This is a very commonly asked question! But to answer it properly, we have to go all the way back to where we used to work, Huset. So we did! Great video. I have so much respect and admiration for you and Christopher. Living in Svalbard is beyond my comprehension. It is so beautiful but I am 71 yrs. and don't do cold and snow very well. I went to school at huset. 6 and 7th grade. The highlights was when the Russian dance and theater group used to visit and entertain in huset. Lots of good memories

The history of Svalbard is interesting and without you I would never probably have heard of it . It's an unusual life you lead Christopher seems to be a quiet chap and I think you have totally changed his life Hes a lucky guy .Age gaps are unimportant age is just a number

I agree with you that he really got lucky. However age gaps are very important. Especially when you get to 70’s and 80’s. If one partner is in 50’s and the other is in 70’s the life is very different. By standard, people start experiencing declining physical and mental health in their older years and often the younger partner becomes a caretaker.!

One of my favorite things about Swedish (and other scandinavian languages?) is that every building is a Hus (house)! It makes everything feel so homey :). I loved studying at A-huset, the architecture building at Lund University.

I love the sweet story of how you and Christoffer met. The story of Christoffer cooking duck in a toaster oven had me laughing. The Huset is beautiful with it's Scandinavian design , wood flooring and the wine cellar is fabulous . I would enjoy tasting the wine. I like a glass of red wine in the winter so the climate in Svalbard is perfect for a Pinot noir ! It would be great if you can show us the kitchen when the renovation is finished and maybe a jazz concert if you're able to film an event. It's a cold day here in Florida 35 F ( cold for Floridians). The U.S. is having some blustery weather especially in the North East. Boston my birthplace experienced a blizzard yesterday , the wind was roaring like the wind in beginning of your video. I like spending time in the kitchen on cold days making a comfort food dish. Today the dish is Chicken & Dumplings.It's a chicken soup with onions , carrots , celery, and dumplings. That wine cellar IS epic! It's the cozy vibe, love me a wine tasting and a really funny sommelier in that cellar. What they need is a whiskey room and cigar room to make it complete. I can envision a whiskey bar decorated with old industrial mechanical devices from the old mine. tables made from old pulleys, bar stools with old drill bits for legs and sutch. can imagine coming back from a long snowmobile ride and warming up to a irish coffee and finishing off with a tawny port!
