It appears her mom is a hoarder and enjoys living the way she does. I don’t see the problem there. Tiwa obviously wants to help her mom but mom doesn’t seem to be on board with it. Remember that a bigger house is lonely and hard to maintain. When my kids are not home my big house is miserable to live in!

A friend of my dad built a house in the city and brought his mum to live in the city. The mum became depressed and complained about all kinds of illness . He noticed that the mother stopped complaining about any illness when they went back to the village ,so the end she went back to the village and he goes to visit her
@jaybee118
@jaybee118 Жыл бұрын
Oh my goodness! My late mum was the same. She had suitcases of unsewn and unworn materials and clothes, shoes, bags, jewelry, you name it, that we bought and sent for her. No amount of encouragement or persuasion worked. She would wear the same old clothes and faded clothes, except for Ramadan and some occasions. She wasn't someone that went to occasions anyway. Last December we went home, a year after her passing as 'per tradition' to clear her house and share her personal belongings and household things. Shocker! Her things had been looted by family members who had been allowed to stay in the house. Her bedroom had been ransacked and nothing left worthy to share except her bed.The room looked like squatters had been living in it. Almost all of her new and valuable household stuff was missing. Her bedroom had been locked up after the funeral and the key taken away for safekeeping. I don't think I cried as much when she passed as I did when I saw what had been done. I cried not for the things looted but at the violation and disrespect to her memory by people she loved, housed and spent all her money taking care of. The annoying part is that nobody in the house 'knew' how it happened but I have never a bunch of guilty people together who couldn't even look at our faces. We couldn't say or do anything because of the shock and sadness of the situation. There was nothing we could do but clean the bedroom and lock it again. We couldn't even stay in the house because all the rooms were occupied, a 5 bedroom house. We didn't inform them we were coming to clear our mum's things so they were shocked to see us turn up at the house. We stayed in a hotel that night and left the town first thing the next morning. We went quietly and left quietly.

Nice one Summer. You are talking about contentment of Tiwa Salvage's mother, while some people looked at the video and are talking about the hoarding part that her daughter was telling her about. I actually have a different opinion of the video you show, it seems like Tiwa is trying to get her mother to throw and or give away some of the things she has because her place looks crowded with lots of things. And it seems like her mother has a hoarding disorder, it someone who has difficulty throwing away or parting with possessions, and I know this because my mother has one too, always keeping things and hard to part ways with it. Meaning of Hoarding Disorder: A hoarding disorder is where someone acquires an excessive number of items and stores them in a chaotic manner, usually resulting in unmanageable amounts of clutter. Hoarding disorder is an ongoing difficulty throwing away or parting with possessions because you believe that you need to save them. You may experience distress at the thought of getting rid of the items. You gradually keep or gather a huge number of items, regardless of their actual value.

While Dangote is currently one of the richest people in Africa and the world, there is always the possibility that his financial situation could change. History has shown that even the wealthiest individuals and empires have fallen from great heights, as evidenced by the story of King Nebuchadnezzar in the Bible. Therefore, it is important to be mindful of the ever-changing nature of wealth and to practice financial responsibility and humility.

Good. It would be very irresponsible for any wealthy person or Billionair to stop looking for money because any adverse & unforseen circumstances can happen at any time that could make she/him lose everything. Did Elon Musk not lose Billions of dollars in just a single day? What if the same thing would had happened to him multiple times within a week or month or year or every week or every month or every year? His wealth would had disappeared & the thousands of people working in his companies would had become jobless. Hundreds of thousands of subsidiaries companies, jobs & millions of families relating to the companies would had been affected negatively. This would had had negative impacts on the economy like people's purchasing powers would had reduced or disappeared if they couldn't find another jobs. Some may had lost their homes & become homeless. No jobs & no homes imply no taxes or little taxes would be paid etc. The unemployment rate would had increased. When Billionairs keep on looking for more money they're also paying more taxes, creating more jobs for people who would then pay taxes. When people have jobs or when there are more jobs the purchasing powers of the people increase. This helps to boost the economy. It's good for the country. Some of the people working for the Billionairs can also become rich & start paying higher taxes....the government uses the money for development or any other things for the country. Etc. Etc. Etc. How on earth do some people think that the continuous increase of wealth of rich people or Billionairs or the constant search for more money implies they're not satisfied with their lives & what they have? How do these people know that the Billionairs are not satisfied with their lives & what they've? Have they conducted any studies on any wealthy person before concluding that the person isn't satisfied with their life or with what they've achieved? & if for any reasons that rich person isn't satisfied should it be extrapolated to other wealthy persons? So according to the shallow thinkers & shallow analysts out there the ideal or reference or model parameter to determine the satisfactions of the rich is that the rich or Billionairs should stop looking for more money? People thinking or saying that wealthy people should stop looking for more money are seeing & analyzing things in outdated & simplistic ways. In other words it's very simplistic to say Billionairs should stop looking for more money. It's a very complex issue.

It might not been that she is content. There might be more to it because she did not seem happy. Content comes with happiness. Moreover that place doesn't look like a house but perhaps old council property. I am not sure that she would have refused to live in a 3, 4 bedroom house with a bit more space even if she is living abroad. If she is living in a more spacious place she would look like a hoarder. I am not criticising just my observation. My observation could be wrong.

@@chisom1481 Did you not hear Tiwa suggesting that the books should go and the mother insisted? Maybe the home has sentimental value to her, and she doesn’t see the need to upgrade. Like summer said, it’s could be that she enjoys her sense of independence and that space is big enough for her to take care of herself. My parents live in a 3 bedroom house with 2 living rooms and a basement and they are constantly getting things from people who are moving just to fill up the space ( talking about they will ship it to Nigeria) and that’s what we fight about every time I go home.

The story of King Nebuchadnezzar in the Bible is a cautionary tale about the dangers of pride and arrogance. Despite his great power and wealth, Nebuchadnezzar was brought down to a state of poverty and humility due to his refusal to acknowledge God's sovereignty. This serves as a reminder that material possessions and worldly success are not guaranteed to last, and that it is important to remain grounded and humble in the face of success. Similarly, while Dangote's wealth and success are certainly impressive, it is important to remember that they are not guaranteed to last forever. Economic circumstances can change, investments can fail, and unforeseen events can occur that may impact one's financial situation. Therefore, it is important for individuals to practice financial responsibility, save for the future, and avoid becoming complacent or overly reliant on their current level of success.

In that video, what I saw was Tiwa telling her mother to decongest her apartment. Some of are good at keeping junks all in the name of still being alive! As the saying goes - if you have something or clothes that you haven't worn in six months/one year, you don’t need it. Give it out. DECONGEST!!!

Great message but your caption is a bit misleading. Nothing shocking about her apartment - a little cluttered but that is how most of the older generation live. They are proud of everything they have and usually refuse to let go.

Summer I love watching your videos but I believe you miss this one the daughter is only addressing the issue of the things her mother has in the house that can be given to people who will use it and pray for her, and avoid accumulating stuff she’s may have not use in 10years. I also like the contentment that you discuss but I believe it’s not for this video unless we’re not seeing everything thanks.

I don't agree with you summer for the first time ever. Towards old age I noticed this in a lot of old people. Many of them keep their unusable items for memory sake not because they are hoarders. My dad was an extreme giver but towards old age he changed and wanted to keep a lot of tiny items that I felt were not necessary for himself.

I think the mother has a hoarding issues or love to buy stuff even if they dont need it they buy and buy it an addiction and sometimes they have to go through counseling is not a matter of her living in an apartment she can live in a house and do the same

I don't think Tiwa mother is living a life of contentment rather that of an hoader which is a form of sickness on its own. This is my thoughts I stand to be corrected

Thanks Summer. Most people are complaining because they are used to leaving the fake life. They didn't even if it was her mother that choosses to keep her own home where Tiwa grew up. From what the mother said, it is obvious that her choice of her she has decided to leave

It’s obvious Tiwa wants to give the mom everything but it seems like the lady feels okay with how she is. Also, it seems like Mama Tiwa is a hoarder and Tiwa has a little problem with that but mama Tiwa doesn’t care. From Tiwa last expression, you can see she has already given up trying to change mama Tiwa so she just trying to convince mama Tiwa to atleast reduce some of the things she’s not using to make space for herself. Contentment is the key and she’s fine that way…. I don’t see any problem with that.

But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9 Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs 1 Timothy 6:6-11

When you have grafted abroad especially in London, money or things don't matter to you anymore. Am talking about 50% of us that worked 12 hours shift for years. Now I just want to eat good quality food and have a good holiday. I get hand down phone from my children and have no contract, no bills just simple easy life.

As long as she is happy that's what matters. It doesnt matter who your child is, the mother is an adult and they cant force her. As long as the house is tidy. If it is hoarding then it is a difficult mental health issue that needs to be addressed.

In my opinion you messed up your presentation by not being able to distinguish between personal contentment (as it concerns individuals) and the quest for business passion (as with Dangote) and leadership quest for a purpose (as with Tinubu). You could have actually focused on the wayward Tiwa Savage who was indirectly accusing her mother of being a hoarder in her video. Have you made a video on her 'Playboy' video that went viral in Nigeria sometimes ago? That should be more important than this.

Just love ur massage! Would say GOD bless you for opening the eye's of many! To be honest,the worst thing is competition! Trying to do what others has done? Being content is wisdom, and its good to avoid those that's checking to see what you've achievements,as if you can take them anywhere? But the young lady did not look like Tiwa savage?

To get all this commentary from a short video like that is stretching it and a lot of assumptions. Do you know any of their financial worth, what is the definition of content? Why can't we just enjoy a video and let it be. Whitney Houston lived in an apartment before her death. Did you see Prince Harry's cottage with IKEA furniture? Let's leave people alone please and not assume that fame equates wealth because it does not

I applaud her she is content. However, less is more though, especially in that state of contentment. Her daughter is right I see her concern the boxes may constitute clutter. Let her give some of those things away if she hasn't used them in a while. Covid humbled every body where material acquisitions meant nothing. If she clears the place it helps her mentally also. Tiwa knows her mum we are mere onlookers.
