That was quite enjoyable and informative. Plant passion at a high level! We can identify! She puts a lot of thoughtful thought into everything, especially about the specs of the greenhouse and the use of natural energy in combination with the house. Let the sun shine in! That's a nice kind of luxury. The rest is just total amazing awareness of all factors and attention to detail. Good luck for all future ventures. Our minds are all spinning so fast that we are almost making as many sparks as Summer Rayne's mind is doing durung this video. How we dream of greenhouses and the psychological warmth within them when it comes to our love of natural creations.

Be sure to try Zauschneria garrettii 'Orange Carpet' . Super plant in many climates. If you can find a Nepeta siberica 'Souvenir d'Andre Chaudron', it is also a fabulous profit center for nursery. I owned a perennial nursery that grew many thousands of varieties. This was a star every year. Gypsophila aretioides was a perennial good seller in rock garden material. Plant that one in sand and full sun. Good luck!

What an enjoyable interview , made easy for you because she is a terrific communicator. She definitely has good plant Karma. (sorry, I couldn’t resist) That is a nice Aloe branddraaiensis that you purchased. As you noted the species is dimorphic. When young the leaves grow opposite, stacking one atop another, forming a ‘mustache’. After a few years they begin to change their orientation and gradually form a rosette structure. Aloe suprafoliata does the same. As with many Aloes, A. branddraaiensis varies in appearance under differing cultural regimes. The duration and intensity of direct sunlight exposure being the main influence. ~ I appreciated Karma’s comments about her approach that if a specific plant doesn’t thrive under the conditions that she is able to provide , ex. Lithops , then she doesn’t grow it, at least not commercially. By nature , an enthusiastic plant person often wants to grow a great variety of species. While it’s engaging to indulge in trying to succeed with the rare and exotic , at some point one needs to learn from such experiments what the limitations of one’s available cultural conditions are and use said information to guide one’s acquisitions going forward. ~ P.S. - Aloe ferox doesn’t pup readily. Over time it grows a single upright trunk several feet tall. Sometimes the trunk may grow a couple of branches, which can be removed for propagation. It’s most often propagated by seed.
