I almost done with my 408 stroker. I’m using a lot of y’all’s parts. It has a forged rotating assembly, clevite h series bearings, melling 10295 oil pump, y’all’s 8722R1 cam, btr springs, yella terra rockers, hardened push rods, ported 317’s, Hinson c5r timing chain, billet sprockets, 7 quart pan, Holley hi ram, 88mm turbo, Bosch 220’s 10an line, motion raceworks flex fuel sensor, gmpp 3 bar map, arp top to bottom, 50mm waste gate and bov, 4l80e with tci triple disc, hd2 shift kit with boost valve and servo… I still have quite a bit to add to it before it’s all done and drivable. I have a 1000whp on E. Y’all make building a LS easy as can be ESPECIALLY living close to Arlington!

To make sure your intake valve is on base circle the best way is to put the push rod on the exhaust lobe of the same cyl. When the pushrod begins to open the intake is on base circle.

A better exhaust manifold and a slightly smaller turbo that still makes at least 1000hp but wakes up earlier would be something that i'd prefer for a "street" engine. Doesn't even need to be a 6.0 liter, a shorter stroke paired with a longer connecting rod would be nice for wear and tear especially with a 2618 alloy piston.

Yes, we have a full parts list. The only problem is the entirety of this build was brand new out of the Summit catalog. A person with a wasted 5.3 motor is going to save a TON of money in re-using viable parts that can be re-used to the same effect. Our goal is as to create a recipe for folks to replicate the functional recipe needed to make the power with their own junk-yard parts as needed. Hallelujah

The difference is for a smaller engine like a 5.3, the engine isn’t going to make quite as much odd-boost torque. The turbos are actually a great match for a smaller engine than a 408. They are actually very undersized for a 408.
@superior3384
@superior3384 2 жыл бұрын
@@SummitRacing so is the 5.3 450hp 420 torque a good choice for turbo. And also does it really have way more power than a stock 5.3? I think that 5.3 is a cheaper way to go. The 6.0 will cost more to buy build and turbo

I'd say it's pretty safe to assume 550-650hp if it's like most any other one. You gotta remember it'll be down on compression and won't have an optimum camshaft in it to squeeze every last N/A horse pressure out of it and mid range won't be real strong with that intake.. I've seen a few make a little less and a few make a good bit more but this is where a lot of them end up. I'd probably put this one on the upper portion of that range due to the cylinder head that's on it and I'd add 30-40hp to it if it was a 6.2l with a rectangle port on it.

Actually, as long as you are running a powdered-metal guide, the factory rockers and Pro Ls cams are designed to work with each other at .625 lift and below. It’s the lightest rocker at the valve and allows several hundred r rpm more with greater reliability than aftermarket roller rockers etc. a Trunnion kit is advised if the rockers have over 50l mileage on them.
