I've now owned the Cloud Peak 2 for nearly two years and it's great. Very sturdy and plenty of room for me and my kit, whether backpacking or if I choose it over the Khyam Biker tent when on my motorbike because the Cloud Peak 2 not only smaller & lighter, but is is much easier to erect and also take down & pack. That's great when I'm only staying at a campsite for one or two nights and keep the bigger Khyam when staying for several nights on the same pitch. I've not used it in extreme conditions, but have had quite a bit of rain and wind and everything was fine. I am also glad I have the original version with the double zipped inner tent doors rather than the single large zippered door on the later version as I don't think that was an upgrade.

Great videos Trev! Just a tip the inner door that zips open and you were saying was flapping about.. put the toggle through one of the inner tent rings as you fold it back, hope this helps 😊 keep the vids coming! 👍🏼

I have the same sleep set up, Ridgerest pad and Trekology UL80mat, very comfy, and also the Trekology pillow. Good tip I found from Erik Normark videos is that there's a bit more insulation if you have the pad on top of the air bed, rather than the other way around. I tried it and found it is a bit warmer that way. I've recommended the Cloud Peak to a friend who's current Vango 2man isn't big enough for him and his missus.

Handy hint...take a couple of pegs when you go camping. That way, if you need to roll up a door (inner or outer) and there isn't a proper fixing or the fixing has broken, you can still roll up the door and use a peg to secure it. Hi Trev - looks like a great character building camp. Get yourself a foil/foam/foil blanket to put down on the bathtub, it reflects heat back at you and not as bulky as the thermarest. You can feel the heat coming back at you. Fairly cheap on ebay. We have one for the Banshee 300 as well that was used to great effect when we went to Gunnerside (Yorks Dales) in the Beast from the East snow a couple of years ago. Still waiting to get out in the Cloud Up 2, but we are in Tier 3 up here so no overnight stays away from home. Have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I actually saw some in Lidl a while back, ummed and arred, decided not to, got home, changed my mind, next time I went back it had gone! Hi Trev. I have the Vango banshee 300 and it had lasted me well for about 5 years and it's still in great nick. But I do like the look of the cloud peak 2 as there seems plenty of space in the vestibule area for cooking etc. It got a battering in this video and did a great job.. I'm seriously thinking about this tent. You've a Fantastic channel which is very entertaining and real (if you know what I mean). Keep up the good work mate 👍

Ah, thanks very much. Really glad that you're enjoying the channel. As for the tent... It did hold up very well, and yes its plenty roomy. Obviously I have only tried it the once so far, and my only concern is the roof cap. I will try to connect it permanently for next time I think. It would be better throwing it up in the rain without a big hole on top, so I think a modification is required. Apart from that I have been happy with what I have seen so far.

Good video and review. I've had similar problems with one of the zips on my cloud peak to such a point that I now can use that side at all. One thing I've done is permanently fasten two of the top cover lines. This means its always on the same way and can't blow away. I good mod I thought. Keep safe and have a good Christmas.

Just bought this tent a couple of weeks ago, only had a ‘lounge room pitch’ so far 😂 to tie the guy ropes on and check everything. Just purchased a separate Vango bag for it as I really love their horizontal loading zip/opening, makes packing it in so much easier. Glad the tent held up well.

I’d definitely get a stand for your gas Trev, the jetboil stand should fit it save spending any money. Must admit that I did pack an additional stand (gor an oex one) but I couldn't find it thought I'd forgotten it, until I gor home and unpacked and it was in there all along hahah. Great fun to watch as always.I must admit i was shouting at the laptop 'Trev,tie a bl@@@y guyline to your rucksack before anything else please !!!.It helps to wrap your guylines around the poles twice and then peg out.On the whole i was very impressed with how well the tent dealt with the conditions and thanks again for great entertainment.. Hi Trev, do yourself a favour and check out this combination light, pump and powerpack storage device, it will be the best bit of kit you purchase this year. 'Flextailgear Max Pump Plus Pro'. I am old and I carry a 700mmx210cm x100mm inflatable mattress for my old bones and muscles, this tiny little pump is just brilliant. light wieght, small, powerful, has a great light with hanging hook. There is a specific way to place the hood on the cloud peak 2. Stronger 5-6mm bungee cord on the hood eliminates flapping especially if you wrap bungee around the poles. I also made a hack on the hood above the two tent entry points to stop water dripping into the floor pan. Hot glue and sew small Ripstop nylon extensions with front corner ties onto the hood above tent entry points. I hemmed both the front and rear of the extensions and placed solid plastic tubes 3-4mm into the hems to give some rigidity, leave a tiny entry point in the hems to insert the rods so they can be removed when packing up. Never leave home without the floor mat. lol. I ditched the tent bag and use a dry, stuff bag with compression straps, I carry the pegs and poles together in the one bag, with 4 longer pegs (250mm) great for those rainy, windy times. Tip 3! fasten the bottom velcro strip on the door zipper before doing up the zipper from inside the tent to stop the zipper pinching the fabric. Don't ask me why it works, but it does. lol. Tip 5! hot glue small magnets or velcro strips on those little corner flaps. Tip 6! carry a small stick of hot glue and a bic lighter, this stuff is magic for repairing tears in light fabric tents. I enjoy the video. Gave me a giggle or two. I hope these tips help. I love this little budget tent, considering the price of the Hilleberg Allak 2, we can afford to spend a few dollars on this tent.. Cheers

So many many Thanks for that Trev....well looks like you have a winner in that tent... fully pegged out like you did it coped really well with that gusty weather and the way you slept i would say the Trekology UL80 sleeping pad worked great as well. Doesnt that Pump sack make it so much easier to inflate?!?!?.. I should have got one years ago myself!! Glad Nath managed to jump on that Lanshan offer and get one .... would have been interesting to see how that faired in that wind I'm sure it would have stood up to it especially if it was lowered a little closer to the ground. Sorry to hear you guys are on another lockdown over there.... hopefully when we all get vaccinated next year life can slowly start returning to some normalcy!! .... The pump sack is a godsend, makes a lot of difference. Its a weird tier system over here, with regards to Covid, at the moment I am in tier 2 so can still camp, but they introduced a tier 4 in London yesterday and basically cancelled xmas to stop the spread of the virus, so there's been a mass exodus of the capital and the roads down here have been crammed - really disappointing and frightening. Anyway, I am locking myself and my family down now - Christmas starts here! Merrty Christmas, mate! And all the best to you! Stay safe!

On mine the smaller door has a tab with a buckle that you can use to secure it out of the way. I’ve also used a mini carabiner to attach the top to the skin semi-permanent so that I don’t lose it.

Its early days yet, but I think maybe if I know the weather is likely to be more severe or if I'm camping at higher altitudes the cloud peak would probably take president over the cloud up, but that being said, the cloud up has always been my go to tent. Its nearly a kg lighter and at a push tou can fit the whole thing in your backpack.

Being geodesic, the cloud peak is far more sturdier than the cloud up in strong winds. Its also roomier and with 2 doors either-side as opposed to just one at the front. However, it is a good 250grams heavier than the cloud up. I have probably spent more nights in the cloud up, though, but I have had a couple of nights where I haver got flattened in it.

YEa - its a great tent - got quite gusty up there and seemed to hold up. I would say you will want to double up with the UL80 in winter seasons, but by the time we get back out it may well be spring now... Take care buddy!

I always think If the inflatable fails at least then rubber is my plan B I went mad I had new boots and a few other cheapo bits like a wind deflector for my stove, its mad how I keep looking at kit 🤣
