I'd find it interesting if, instead of after choosing all your cards for a build and then completing another floor some new white pieces joined, you had to choose another set of cards that would replace the first cards you picked. Allowing for builds to change and forcing you to adapt, maybe this system + the current system could make something interesting? Update: I have been informed that this is the Chase mode hinted at the end of the video

I think the reason the undead armies card (spawn a pawn after rooks, knights or bishop die) doesn't work on the last row is because if a chess piece died, it would spawn a pawn that would immediately promote, therefore leading to a loop of basically invincible pieces as long as they stay there

This is actually an insane build because white had insane anti-synergy. Everything was invested into pawns when there are basically no pawns and tyler could pick off pawns easily.

You can always see what units are about to move by highlighting them, the lack of shaking is a loop-2 change to increment the difficulty

Wand of Wrath + Theocracy is a hilarious combo where you can just instantly snipe one of the bishops and potentially win instantly if you find a way to lower the number of bishops

For those who need context, the comparison was: if they introduced a power to chess where you could just remove any piece from the opponent's board at any time, a large portion of the game's theory would start revolving around what piece to remove and when. Some people would just remove the queen right when the game starts and you would play no-queen chess.

I'm pretty sure the theory would in large have you removing the queen as late as possible so they hopefully waste as many moves as possible with it. Some would also choose to save the ability to allow for the removal of defenses from the king allowing for a really potent attack without having to bring more pieces. It's an interesting idea and I'm curious how itd work out.

You know maybe for some interesting ideas for the game, instead of adding 1 power for black and white for each level: 1) Black already has 10 full random powers, but black has to remove some of those powers (maybe keeping 5 or 3 at final level) 2) White has 5 random powers, but will get additional 5 more powers (means white has 10 full powers at final level as normal)

My favorite strategy is the toggleables. Cornered despot, High focus, Black mist WHICH LITERALLY REVIVES YOU ONCE PER FLOOR, and afterwards I just wanna debuff enemies as much as possible.

Ah yes, Plague Rats. The Black Card that scales with the more White Pieces and Power you have, since it means more rats to nibble the thoroughly chipped out army to death. The fact you've combined it with Pierce is extra spicy, but you could've done even better if you'd managed to get Grenade, Blades, or the Black Death Trinity (Rats + Crow + BD) with them. On the subject of Black Death, it's the only source of passive damage you get access to that doesn't require your shotgun to 'activate' , so it's quite a sought out Perk imo, especially with stall cards like Moat, Black Mist, and Extra Turn enablers.

I will never get how Tyler doesn’t get that wiping out a queen at the start does absolutely nothing for him. Sure it kills the most dangerous piece, but what does it put you in danger of? Putting you in check. if that’s the case there is no reason to not until you puts you in check

It's a good prophylactic move during the quiet earlygame, when there are no valuable moves to make, especially as an edgehugger. Later when enemy pieces are in position and start delivering checks it can easily be too late to take a pick off. Whenever there's an empty soul slot it's even better.
