Thanks for all these discussions on Sri Lankan history. When I listen to your discussions, I realize how vivid our history is and, how they help to expand your mind.
Since buddhist teachings and buddhism was initially orally transmited.does the critical analysis and its interpretations begin once it was written down as thripitakaya.later did buddhist conferences or the sangayayana held reflected the critical diversity of opinions.?
My question for prof somadeva is Since Buddhism and its teachings were initially orally transmitted did the critical analysis begin once it was written down in thripitakaya.did the later held budhist "sangayanas" reflect this aspect ?
Were the melinda's questions and gautama buddha conversations recorded. Or orally transmitted. If orally transmited many individual interpretations psychological changes can take place in each individual listener.
@@dtakamalakirthidissanayake9770 thanks for the reply. my reserch and its understanding opens up the complex routes buddhism has travelled and influenced the thinking irespective of ethnicity. from Afghanistan's the indu bactrian king meander and perhaps the yawana (greek)monks who aquared and only known in their pali names similar to south indian monks buddhagosha etc.(until its pin pointed)ethnic identity is immaterial for budhist philosophy.
