The Bengali part is awesome and extremely melodious .... since I grew up hearing the Bengali part and won many singing competition in school performing this very song, I will always have a special place for it in my heart .... However, the English part performed by Aditi was giving me chills and shivers in my bone .... I was getting goosebumps every time I was hearing it .... such "stupednafentabulasticallyfantasmegoricallymagical" the English part was !!!!!!

The Bengali part talks about the beauty of women , English part talks about the strength of women. The common theme is women. English part has pop music and the Bengali part is sung in its original tune . This is fusion ,some will like it and some will don't. As a Bengali am proud that non Bengalis are getting to know this sweet folk song coz of the coke version !

The 1st comment that actually reflects what this exceptional piece is symbolic for. The original song may be infused with modern instruments but the essence of the song is intact. And hope at least a few people like us would enjoy it.
@sayankundu1492
@sayankundu1492 9 жыл бұрын
The problem here is not the fusion of east meets west, but trying to infuse rather forcefully two completely different emotions.... One, a newly wed beautiful woman (shundori komola) on her way to her new home..... and everyone around is happy.... The English lyrics says about the darker side of a woman how she fights her way (maybe out of a bad marriage ) So in a way its connected but it would've been better off keeping it innocent and simple as a Bengali.. :D

Wow this is a commendable effort... Not the best music I have heard/seen, but this is a much-needed effort to promote Bangla music, culture and language across the globe. If we do not look for new and interesting ways to package ourselves to the rest of the globe, we won't succeed in getting ourselves recognized by others. I am shocked by all the negative comments left by people.

This is amazing. And I am proud to be a Bengali and proud to hear this beautiful composition. The people in the comment section seem to be 'greater musicians' I must say who has right to say whatever they want about the composition and about them who did a hardwork over it. I have only one thing to say to them that music is endless and it can't be bounded in a specific composition, place, religion or country. So get over it and enjoy because it's not offending the song, it's recreating its beauty.

Bengali beauty wears a sari which shines in sunshine deary me! Bengali beauty wears a nose-ring whose pendent sways to and fro O'my my! Strum strings of couplet nicely; dances Bengali beauty. Bengali beauty's feet adorned with belled anklets chimes harmonically. To go to father's place from in laws we have to cross sparkling river dear me. English song is from Ram's old album called "Colourblind". I think Siddharth Achrekar was on Guitars, Karl Peters was on Bass and Ram Sampth was handling Vocals/ Synths/ Drum Programming. What an album that was. I still have a audio cassette of that album somewhere.

Odiya is classic language ... Assamese people came from south asian countries and Assamese developed by getting touch of native Bengali,,rich culture of assam atracts many Bengali to convert them to Assamese as facial structures distinguishes.. and i think Bengali got the touch of Odiya,, its my perception only,,
