My parents are from Dinajpur, Bangladesh. I live in th UK now. While I couldn't make out the lyrics entirely, I couldn't understand why I felt a strange famaliarity with the song. Until I read a comment mentioning that it is similar to bhawoiya (a community music category which originated in Northern Bangladesh, Assam, etc) and all the memories of my childhood visiting dinajpur during the summer vacation came flooding in. It's as if certain music is influenced by the landscape and topography of the region of its origin.

This is one of the most Beauty full Songs originate from Koch Rajbongshi community folk songs. This language written from from year of 1555 when Koch king Naranarayan (Mallodhwaj) sent the letter to Ahom king, He used this Koch Rajbongshi language and its convert to goalpariya language in 1968(after undivided goalpara district include in Assam) .This Rajbongshi language in North Bengal(WB) is known as kamatapuri(Rajbongshi) language. The same Koch Rajbongshi community folks songs is known as Goalpariya (Rajbonsghi/Kamatapuri) in Assam , Bhawoiya and sotka in Bengal, Desi/bhaowaiya in Bangladesh and Rajbongshi in Nepal. I am a bangladeshi and i like papon a lot. Assamese language is so beautiful. There are so many similarity between assamese and bangla. I understand most of assamese words. Just found some difference that we bangali pronounce "vasha" "bashi" "moncho" and assamese pronounce "vaha" "bahi" "monchot". This is interesting.

I listened Papon in live concert at lovely professional University. It was from coke studio. He was singing in Bengali but we were punjabis and hindus in majority. But whole crowd gone mad. He is really a gem in live singing. I am big fan of him🤩 Very very entertaining

যদিও এটা গোয়ালপারিয়া গান এটা কিন্তু একদম বাংলা ভাষার গান মনে হচ্ছে। এই গানের প্রত্যেকটি শব্দ হুবহু বাংলা ভাষার মতো । আসলে আসামের ভাষা আর বাংলা ভাষার মধ্যে একটা অসাধারণ মিল আছে।
