Thanks again for another great live. I will watch the beginning the next days. Again. Happy Birthday Phil. Think you missed my second birthday wish donation😊 Good words from you. Since the 26th January 2024 my father could be 62. 3 years after his death. He said to us that he wont turn 60. That was a hard comment and it remind me today while you speaking. See you soon. Thanks again for your fantastic content. Cheers😊

Welcome back! I am a big "lost" distillery fan with Glenugie, Glenury Royal and Brora (no longer lost!) being my favourites but when you look at bang for your buck at current prices I do not think you can beat Imperial!
@WhiskyMystery10 ай бұрын
Yeah my friend has quite a range of imperials now and the are universally great.

Hi new to the channel Love watching your videos. Wondering the website you guys use for auctions. Thanks God bless.

Hi. We have used Scotch Whisky Auctions the most, but recently used Whisky Auctioneer. Both in Scotland

Does the Glentauchers actually say Grentachers? Was it lost in Japanese translation?

No hope Phil, just use it for highballs. No amount of water will help 😁

I'm probably completely mistaken but I had wondered whether Deepa's phone kept buzzing because someone was at your front door waiting to get in?😉 ---- Highland Park OBs often have significant sherry influence, and people may think from that that sherry is part of their flavour make-up. But the interesting thing is that when one tastes e.g. IB "Orkneys" from ex-bourbon casks one finds that a lot of the same HP character still comes through (after neck-pours), and so a lot of what we might think of as sherry influence upon that whisky is really HP distillate character. Obviously that doesn't mean sherried casks have no effect, but it can be surprising how similar ex-bourbon HP can be to sherried ones. ---- Re. the Brora labels, I couldn't tell from what you showed via the camera, but it *might* be the case that the back label uses a different glue, or is a "sticker" rather than a label adhered by some form of glue (yes, highly technical), and that that is the reason why the slight bubbling of the front label was not matched on the back one? If you look (through the bottle) at the back (inside, i.e. next to the glass) side of the labels, some labels are glued to the bottle and may (not always) show a speckly back, whereas stickers have a smooth/uniform back. Stickers also always have at least slightly rounded corners whereas "glued" labels may or may not. In terms of collecting labels, stickers are easily removed by putting boiling hot water *inside* the empty bottle and using a snap-off or box-cutter type of blade/knife to lift the edge and then peel the label off with one's fingers. In short: here the water is simply providing heat. The sticker then needs to be re-stuck/smoothed back onto something like a piece of paper, because the back remains forever sticky. Some glued labels come off if a bottle is left to soak in water (hot/cold, depending), i.e. water-based glues, but others have different very strong glues (non-water-based) and are difficult to remove. There are products one can purchase where one glues (presses down/smooths very firmly) a transparent plastic sheet to the front of a bottle label, which has a very strong glue, and one then tears it off the bottle, removing at least the upper layer of the paper label. Those products tend to work better with new/young bottles/labels, but less-so with older ones/"dusties". I used to collect wine bottle labels. Probably much simpler/easier now to take a photo of a label with one's phone.

Could be right about the phone. We have some excellent exbourbon HP's but also love the OB 25 etc. The Brora front labels are individual as they have a bottle number on them. So yes a different process by hand probably. Haha a lot of glue info here.

No ! NO ! ... Age IS ALWAYS better. Period. Just that humans can not fathom nor quantify the ephemeral quality of time, certainly not in monetary denomination. (( I have some G'Tauchers 22-29 yo from James Macarthur and Blackadder - they kick buttox ! !))

@@ironmantran yeah we love ours also. This one has barrel issues. We gave it another go after an hour in the glass. Good nose and arrival but a destructive finish.
