My gun friends think I'm an expert but the only thing I'm an expert at is nothing. I could sound smart when I say an Ed Brown 1911 frame grip safety radius is .250 and the Springfield is .220 but someone else found that out and I listened to the advice. I didn't figure that out and I didn't design the fitting jig to do that work even though I can and have done it. It's so important to be humble in all that we do. Be honest and be real. There is a lot to be gained from always learning but there is nothing gained when you stop doing that and become self absorbed. This is why I love this gun channel so much. Just good people enjoying firearms with good morals. This has to be the most respectable firearms channel on KZbin and the most appreciated.

I was in the Marine Corps in 1995 serving on active duty as a SGT on Inspector Instructor duty in the midwest near my hometown. My sister was nearby and I would always complain about my CO. He was a Captain, ex enlisted, 2 tours on the Drill Field ETC... I think about 6 months went by and my sister and I were at the Marine Corps Ball that year. I invited her to come. My sister met my Commanding Officer that evening. He was very nice to both of use. When he left my sister said you never said he was black. I got out in 1998 and I don't think I have ever respected anyone more than him. He came to a school I went to after he himself was transferred to Camp Lejune. Just to visit me in the Enlisted Barracks and take me out for a beer. Thanks hickok you made me think. For whom ever may read this.

You mentioned "painful" shooting in reference to the Model 29 4" and HOT .44Mag loads. Made me think about a time in 1973 I bought a Thompson Center Contender in 30-30, standard barrel. First time out Silhouette shooting with it using factory ammo I could only get eight rounds out before the webbing of my firing hand had split and was bleeding all over the stock wood grips. On the way home I stopped and bought some Pachmayer grips and found them much let painful. I later purchased a .44Mag Bull Barrel for it and it became my go to setup for all future Silhouette matches. Thanks for the memories and I thoroughly enjoy your Sunday Shoot-a-Rounds watching them from Loveland, Colorado.

My dad had a broom handle Mauser. he bought it off a coworker who was a WWII vet. this was in the 60's he died in 69. "a so-called friend of his" told my mom it shouldn't be in the house with us kids, it does have that look of death to it. long story short she gave it to him. my older brother and an uncle were so pissed they wanted to go take it back. of course, my mom said, "No I gave it to him", and she wouldn't hear of demanding it back. lol Nice to have friends who look out for you in a time of need.

Yes I need to get my Sunday fix of Hickok45. I'm a huge guy that is a huge Ruger revolver guy. Not a big fan of their semiautomatic handguns. I have 2 boxes of 300 blackout that are from when they first came out. It's funny that they are $42.99 each. I use W 231 for all my non magnum rounds and w 296 for my magnum rounds. I also use 296 on my lead target rounds for 223. I bought 2 8 lb of each. I also use w 748 on 5.56 and light 7.62.

The very first 357 round I ever loaded was a 38. I only had 6 in the whole batch of brass but somehow it was the one I grabbed. I set the dies in the press to it and then the next round was a real 357 and it seated too deep and crimped too hard. I don't even load 38 just to eliminate that issue from happening again. The 357 brass is easy to recognize because it's always stuck in the 45s when I take them out of the wet tumbler. Ha. Thanks for the great vids.

Yep, there are lots of little things we all get wrong at times, especially by the standards of formal English: "a whole nother thing," "laying out in the sun," "snuck," "drug," "have drank," etc. The thing about "whom" is that people wander into it incorrectly without needing to. "Who" will do unless we're certain it's objective case.

Hi Greg..... Two of the points you made during this session were well taken by me. The first, regarding the use of "whom", is good advice and, along with it, I am reminded of the improper use of "I" in order to sound more sophisticated and hide one's grammatical ignorance. As in "Jim doesn't hang out with Frank and I." Whatever happened to "me" usage? Of course taking "Frank" out of the sentence is the real test. Your second point also rings a bell...that of tagging people with labels. Just like grammar and word usage, people, in general, are mostly either lazy or ignorant. When I was in systems development, many would actually count the number of keystrokes an entry required and criticize the process if it took too many strokes! Even the so-called authorities on spelling (dictionaries) cave to current (read that lazy) usage and include misspellings as correct usage if you wait long enough. For example, my techy wife now informs me that current texting software assumes you will NOT use punctuation! This being the trend, I don't wonder that "Greg is a man who teaches English." becomes "Greg's an English teacher.". Laziness and ignorance will always out, such that a descriptive phrase will always become a label....it's a lot easier and requires less thinking. As Always, Pete
