I am the eldest of 8 siblings.. my mom fell ill with cervical cancer after the birth of my younger sister, the number 8th.. thanks to the grace if our Lord Almighty, she has recovered, and non of us were born with any health conditions.. we give all Glory and Honor to our Lord Jesus Christ..

I am the youngest of 8 siblings. 6 out of 8 of us were born with varying degrees of mental and emotional disabilities. She and my father never knew exactly why. My mother’s faith and acceptance of her challenging role as caregiver to all these special needs children was astounding to me both the now. I have had nowhere near the challenges in life that my parents had. Yet my mother’s faith and trust in the Lord cemented my own. What would have driven other parents to either abandon their responsibilities or become lost in alcoholism or even lose total faith in God only strengthened theirs. My parents are both deceased now but their faith and acceptance of us still has a tremendous on my life and the essentially of trusting in the Lord no matter what life may throw at you.

Fr. Mike! I was at your Mass and talk at Notre Dame this weekend. I am currently in the 10 Commandments section of the Catechism in a Year, and your loving conviction helped me go to confession today 2 weeks after my last joyfully contrite (if that makes sense) when I normally dread this sacrament. Your talk yesterday reminded me that I am the Bride of Christ, and taught me that I am His bride, now. As I am. That Christ died to guard and protect me as His Bride out of love. I found your videos on Ascension in the middle of my faith crisis, the beginning of my struggle with depression, being bullied by my classmates, realizing and ending a toxic friendship, and the first death of someone close in our life. Your videos are why I was confirmed on Divine Mercy Sunday of 2019. Unfortunately, I am not a theology major. I am a social work major and hope to declare a political science double major or minor and the CST minor to do mental health advocacy and lobbying kind of things in a catholic sphere.

Father Mike I’d like to start by saying thank you. You saved me in every way a man can. I’ve been loosely following you for a good long time. I was lost and my old boss saw this and offered some advice to me. He said “maybe listen to father Mike, he does a podcast” that might help you to find the answers you seek. And it did for the most part. Fast forward to a week or so ago. I failed not only my wife but god himself. So I did the only thing I could do, I turned back to Christ. I’m not catholic yet. I don’t know if I can be as broken as I’ve become but I have faith. I have been in a constant state of praise and prayer to god while listening to your podcasts. Asking for forgiveness and possible redemption in my wife’s eyes as well as gods forgiveness. I believe that god heard my plea and saw my heart because I have found the love for god and my wife I have never known. Thank you for lighting the path I couldn’t see for myself.

Father Mike, thankyou for the mass, may 29 of 2o23 I started having seizures at work, didn't know why, so got mris done and brain scans showing nothing finally they said I have functional neurological disorder. I am out of work because of my seizures, my husband is paying for everything, but has been there for me. I love walks here in colo. I can't m go for walks by myself anymore. But what you talked about today hit home. This stituation has given me a chance to get closer to christ, some mornings I wake up at 3:00 am and just pray and cry to God. This I got up at 3 in the morning. Couldn't go to sleep, God said pray your rosary I did, and I went back to bed and fell asleep. I am thinking about how that woman has a positive attitude, Amistad going on, so I as well need that daily. Pray for me father Mike. God bless. Elizabeth dewey.

Felt like this homily was for me. I was in s soccer league during college so that analogy with trusting a coach was on point. Also, I'm sure I'm not the only one, but in my private life, I've definitely been held back in my morality & spirituality by the stumbling block of needing to understand before deciding to trust so in this sense this homily gives me hope to break through those phases of my life. I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart. As a single mother raising two children with special needs things are challenging on me. But while I struggle every month to pay rent and as I struggle to buy groceries our Lord Jesus you have never left my side and I am so grateful for that. He has carried me. The Lord hears and will deliver us from any of our struggles. God will make a way even when there seems no way. So as I struggle I keep faith.

Powerful homily, Father Mike! When I was just 49, I had a brainstem stroke caused by cancer radiation I had about 18 years earlier. My cross has been coping with the long-term effects. I had to learn to give up all control and trust God, even as my family abandoned me and I became homeless. The experience led me to return to my cradle faith. Jesus never gave up on me during my multiple health crises. I do my best to pay it forward by encouraging and praying for fellow cancer survivors. Like most everyone, I asked why I had the stroke, became homeless, etc. But with His strength, I learned to persevere in hardship and TRUST GOD completely. Thank you, Fr. Mike and the Front Pew Crew, for spreading the gospel and teaching us to TRUST HIM in every situation as we battle through life and look forward to reaping rewards for our service and faithfulness!

I have been experiencing some persecutions. When these persecutions began, I was blown out of the water. Why me? I found Dr. Charles Stanley who said, trials are sent to us for us to grow in God's grace. He also said not to look at our trial but to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and that He will help us through our trial. My trial is nothing compared to the trials which others are going through. My heart goes out to these brave saints. God bless you all.

Fr Mike; Please tell Brit and Angnes I will pray for them. My mom had eight siblings, four boys and four girls. The sixth child was MaryAnn who was born with Spina bifida. She only lived about 6 weeks. I am the second oldest . Not only was this occurrence devastating for my parents, it was a question we all could not understand. In 1985, my oldest sister KAthy died of an asthma attack. She was 27 years old. I have also dealt with the question of WHY did this happen again. May God give you PEACE and understanding and time goes on. It has been over 30 years since Kathy died, I took me many years to start trusting God. I love Jesus. I look at ALL the little boys and girls born with cancer or other diseases. I question WHY do these children have to deal with this? I do not ask Jesus anymore. I just pray for them. I loved the message today. Humans are the only creatures who can ask, "Why?" after they suffer. There's no guarantee that tomorrow will look similar to today, but there's a guarantee that we will always have God with us. It's right to ask why but we must see if we need to ask why? We mustn't question God's motive or reason as learned from the book of Job. Some relevant examples shared by Fr. Mike on trusting God such as Abram willing to sacrifice his son Isaac, Moses trusting God's plans, Mother Mary willing to be the Virgin Mother, Matthew giving up his career to follow Jesus, and St. Paul taking up the cause of spreading the gospel despite being an opponent of it for so long. All of this shows that if we trust God, we can fulfill our purpose in life. Thank you for this great service and the message, Fr. Mike, the Front Pew Crew and Team Ascension.

Thank you Father for your wisdom. My active, seemingly healthy Mom passed away Jan 29th. Yes she was a senior, but we expected her to be around for quite some time- she gardened, walked for an hour daily and drove herself. This event put a wall up between me and God. For once, I couldn't go to him, get comfort from him or even pray grace. Now I understand why I was feeling this way. The wall is gone.

Seems these past 5 years of my husband and I trying to adopt through the Texas foster system. We have no children. It has been a constant journey of “wait & see” it is finding the beauty in the loss of control at life, it is about choosing to turn it over to him day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute. Loosing control does not mean sitting idle as life goes on without you. It means surrendering your will to his and in prayer and taking the next right step moment by moment, it is about trusting in God. The Catholic Church says no to IVF because it destroys embryonic life, it destroys the spiritual meaning of sex between two souls, and treats the baby as a commodity, not a natural gift from God .

I was raised Roman Catholic and did not hear the gospel until I was in my 20s. By God’s grace and sovereignty I am a Christ follower (Reformed Baptist) and wanted to share with you folks in love and respect and biblical truth there are numerous falsehoods taught in the Catholic Church that are the antithesis of scripture. While God does not speak audibly to people anymore, as we have the completed Old and New Testaments. Mary herself was not sinless and even stated her need for a savior in Luke 1:47. We are to pray to God ALONE as Christ followers (Philippians 4:6-7, Matthew 6:6, Jeremiah 33:3, 1 Timothy 2:5). Purgatory does not exist, as this was later added in the book of Maccabees, which is not the Bible. When you die, you go to one of 2 places, heaven or hell (Matthew 25:46, Revelation 21, Romans 6:23) We are not to call anyone in church leadership ‘Father’. (Matthew 23:9) We are not to carve or design statues of Jesus or the apostles (Exodus 20:4-5, Leviticus 26:1, Psalm 115:4-8). In addition to these, there is not a single reference in the Bible of holy water, alter boys, rosaries, venial sin, or mortal sin. We are saved by grace alone, by faith alone, in Christ Jesus alone (Ephesians 2). Apart from that, we’re not dying in sin, we are dead in sin. I sincerely pray in God’s will that you’ll not take my mere word for it, but go to the verses that I shared.

God did not make things bad. God made all things good. If God is all-powerful and he loves us, why does he not respond immediately to all our prayers? Here is the thing about unanswered prayers: Many have been granted before we make them because God has already given the one thing necessary, what we really need: time itself. Time is where God answers prayers even before they are asked.❤❤❤

And......, a voice came from Heaven. For Moses and Abraham and them..., did the voice come from Heaven? Did the voice from Heaven introduce His son in prior encounters? Ummm, I think not. El and Jah, sure enough, introduced themselves. They were like, 'I'm here in this burning bush' and 'I'm Yahweh, your god', and 'Tell 'em Haya Ashur Haya sent ya'. I Am Who I Am in Hebrew is: 'ehya 'asher 'ehya (a variant spelling of Hayah (Ha and Jah). Haya and Ashur were Assyrain deities. Why was the cloud dark and why did it cast a shadow over them? Hmmm? Was it, perhaps, reminiscent of the dark cloud of terror that would decent upon the old testament ppl? Why, yes! It was. The dark cloud was used as an introduction to a new Son as well as a casting away of old belief systems in order to follow that new Son. In short, it's important we ask, "Who are we following"? Test the spirits, remember. Your sister has had a lifetime of proving who she is to you. Other peoples' sisters and brothers have proved themselves not so trustworthy while still others have very trustworthy siblings....sometimes, they are trustworthy up to a certain thing then they're not trustworthy at all in that particular thing. The OT has shown us that their are trustworthy deities and that there are also not so trustworthy deities all over the place and that we definitely do need to and should question who, what, where, and when every second of the day. And, just because animals, flora, and fawna don't speak in King's English doesn't mean they don't communicate their fears, worries, questions, and answers. I'm not even an animal person (I'm allergic to all of them) and I know that. 7 times a day....just do it. You are not your titles, you are not your roles, you are not your preconceived notations, you are not what other ppl believe of you, you are not less than nor anything more than who you are naked before God. The real one, not El and not Yahweh. Christ stood naked before us. He was a man, humbled in every aspect of Ego before man and gods, before he was fully received and united as One. Before he had the power to send the Holy Spirit. If you're going to trust Christ, trust Him. If He teaches you who He is not, then trust that also.
