Wow, Father Mike, your homily is so right on. So many of my friends and family have stopped going to church. We all were raised as Catholics, gone to Catholic school, received the Sacraments. Watching the mass on TV satisfies them although they are physically able to attend. Most do not go at all. This really saddens me. I don’t know what to do about it because it is their choice and talking about it seems to bounce off the wall. I will pray and pray and pray some more.

Holy mackerel!! 😳 I think in my 67 years of being a Catholic and wondering what my purpose is now that I’m a retired nurse and just teaching CCD twice a week, this has to be the most impactful sermon that has shaken me back into my realization that I do truly have a purpose still and have to recognize that it means something and stick with it! Thank you Fr. Mike! Wow!

STAY AWAY FROM CATHOLICSIM - it teaches a works based salvation, that Christ's sacrifice wasn't enough and only temporarily covers sins and its now up to you to do your part. THIS GOES AGAINST THE BIBLE We Must Believe the Work of Jesus He lived a perfect and sinless life so that God could justify condemned sinners with His righteousness (Rom. 3:21-26; 2 Cor. 5:21) He makes believers perfect forever (Heb. 10:14) He testified to the truth so that truth seekers will listen to Him (John 18:37) He bore His people's sin in His body on the cross (1 Peter 2:24) He has forgiven the sins of all believers and canceled their eternal sin debt (Col. 2:13-14) He reconciles believers to God (2 Cor. 5:18-20) He redeems believers from the curse of the law (Gal. 3:13) He saves forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them (Heb. 7:25) He gave His life as a ransom for many (Mat. 20:28) He satisfied divine justice as the perfect sacrifice for sin (1 John 2:2) He shed His blood to purify His people from all sin (1 John 1:7) He died once for all sins to bring believers to God (1 Peter 3:18) He offered Himself as the one sacrifice for all sins for all time (Heb. 10:10,12,18) He saves believers from divine condemnation (Rom. 8:1) He delivers His people from the dominion of Satan (Acts 26:18) He rescues believers from the domain of darkness and transfers them into His kingdom (Col. 1:13) He was resurrected from the dead, giving every believer a living hope and an inheritance in heaven protected by God's power (1 Peter 1:3-5)
