OK, beginner here. I thought an E chord was made on the first 2 frets. Since your capo isn't a full octave down from the nut, are you really playing an E or is it just an "E" shape.I find this confusing that people/books are calling shapes the actual chord. I find that the notes in the E are E B E G# BE. Correct me if wrong. The funny thing is is that I have the music book and it shows an E shape with capo on 2nd fret also and calls it an E chord also.
