This video is actually a great showcase of how animal behaviors help to perpetuate their ecosystems. Squirrels storing their food help to spread the vegetation, kind of like birds feeding on berries and spreading them via droppings.

We have oak trees, and it's obvious they produce far more some years than most, maintaining a squirrel population then occasionally dumping far more than they can eat, just in case the forgotten acorns aren't enough. The deer also eat the acorns, but the squirrels still have plenty to bury.

Exactly and each animal specializes in a specific thing remove one of those animals due to extinction the next animal won't do as good at taking over what that animal specialized in because the replacement has their own specialty it might only do a portion of what the extinct animal did. If that makes any sense. We're all living in a huge ecosystem and these animals and the earth are what keeps us alive and keeps other animals healthy and also keeps the earth healthy.

Our watering can looks like a big cup with a long metal spout. We can get it into small areas. We also have a back-up had that not worked, the back-up was a sure thing but the watering can costed more and arrived first.

I am so glad I saw this video. Several years back, I was hiking in the woods and got terrified when I almost stepped on a snake. It was a very small snake, but it was curled up ready to strike and I swear I heard a rattle. It was the rattle that alerted me to the snake, and the sight of it posed to strike sent me flying out the woods. And quickly finding a safe place to take off my boots and thick socks because I wasn’t sure if I had been bitten. I have wondered if I encountered a rattlesnake ever since, even though I had spent tons of time in the area and didn’t believe we had rattlesnakes. When I got home, I realized I might have encountered an Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnake. Hearing your snakes rattle helped me identify the sound and the markings. I looked up the difference between the Eastern and Western Massasauga rattlesnakes, and I’m even more convinced it wad a rattlesnake. I have never really liked snakes, but I have been terrified of them since that day. I love your channel, how positive you are, and how you demonstrate safe handling of all your reptiles. You help with my fear. I recently met a gecko and touched my first reptile. And it was adorable! I don’t think I would have tried if I hadn’t watched your videos. And now I’m curious about what a snake feels like. I think I would be open to trying to hold one if I had the chance to do it safely. Because I don’t want to live in fear. I actually watched the big rattlesnake strike the mouse a few times until I stopped jumping and could just be curious. Now more curious about the snake I almost stepped on, even if I’m glad my instincts got me away safely that day
@avianahelena6 ай бұрын
If it helps, the snake is most likely just as glad as you are that its rattling alerted you in time for it to not need to bite! It's a scary sound but really for most types of rattlesnake the last thing they want to do is bite you. Since they can't eat you they see it as a waste of precious resources to envenomate you. :)

A good tip for high rooted plants, cut the top first and then try pulling by the base if you don’t want to keep the roots, but if there’s not a lot, less then 10 is usually the point where I say the limit cut as close to the soil then you can leave the roots to rot and there shouldn’t be high nitrate levels, but for sunflowers you’ll be plucking them until you replace the soil the seeds can sprout multiple times and will germinate fast

As a houseplant enthusiast who never uses basic soil, this is one of the reasons. Even without the help of the squirrel you could have gotten a variety of random seeds in your soil. And basic potting mix usually holds a lot of water which most plants don't like since their roots suffocate. One small pack of seeds goes a long way. I'm saying this while I'm drowning in baby Pickle/ cucumber plants, since I grow my own veggies xD Btw if you have the space for it throw the sunflower infested soil in your garden or somewhere it doesn't bother you ^^ I'm sure the wildlife would appreciate it
