Communism changed China and its people, it united the Chinese people, they learned the communist principles such as human equality and cooperation leads to a better life for everyone.

I just watched the US Presidential debate, and its such a stark contrast to your experience in China; one video is full of unfounded extreme hatred toward foreigners, and the other is heartwarming welcome of foreigners. This is a big psychological roller coaster that I prefer not to be on, however it does highlight the decline of US and the rise of China. Companies in China are hiring people from all around the world, while the US is accusing immigrants of crimes they didn't commit. Who's going to end up with a better economy?

是的。我是70后，在国外留学了几年，对过去二十年的发展我都感到很震惊。2010年前北京往返上海有睡一晚的火车，12小时，我觉得已经很好了。想不到现在高铁5小时。我们回国时都没有想到买车，现在周围人基本都是有车一族。

In fact, Dianchi was stinky and dirty before, surrounded by a lot of farmland, vegetable sheds, and sewage from factories was discharged into it. But in recent years, Kunming City has invested tens of billions of RMB in the treatment of Dianchi, so that it has the beautiful scenery that you see now, and the government will continue to invest in it, so I believe that the environment will be even better in a few years when we come back. 我老家宁夏石嘴山市和内蒙古一线之隔。产煤工业小城，坐落在大戈壁滩上。30年前，年年几场沙尘暴，马路上到处都是黑黑的煤灰。任何方向行走20分钟就看到光秃秃的戈壁滩。现在，城市周围到处都是森岭公园，水洼，河堤里到处都是密密麻麻的野鸭子。公路上开车随时都会撞死在路上捡石子的喜鹊。很多绿化果树，苹果，杏子掉到地上都没有人捡。公园很美，游玩的人却很少，一开始我很纳闷。为什么没有人去这些绿化公园去玩，要知道我们那一代如果出去玩，一定是去黄河里游泳抓水鸭子。那个时候能见到青草都会兴奋，现在这么好的环境竟然没多少人去玩，感觉像原始森林。现在我明白了为何去那玩的人很少。因为时代变了，娱乐太丰富了，年轻人不是和朋友吃烧烤KTV，要么就是在郊区飙车玩。年老的在热闹的广场跳广场舞，喜欢刺激的在打个小麻将。。。。我记得在日本的公园里经常在假日看到一家几口在公园的草坪上吃盒饭，打棒球，羡慕不已，现在才明白，因为日本太落后，太无聊，甚至太穷了，所以也就只能在免费的公园里度过假日。不像中国.....免费公园比比皆是，人却很少，因为又更有趣的事情在做。

I'm in my mid 40s and Kunming has been on my head lately for serious retirement. If you think about it, kunimng is literally the Spring City that means no cold winder and no hot summer. The city has an annual mean temperature of 15.52 °C (59.9 °F). That means much less spending on cloth and outwear. The food is super afforable and healthy thanks the great backing of the entire province, the veggie supply is amazingly diverse and rich. For less than 300K usd, you will get a very large flat or a house in a gated community. Seriously, it's the unknow retirement paradise. There's so many nice areas you can drive to and enjoy too!!!. look it up people!!

32:57 Surly you can visit Chengdu again, there's a famous road trip from Kunming-Dali-Lijiang-Shangrila(Meili Snow Mountain)-Litang( highest county in China)-Kangding-Ya'an-Leshan(Big Buddha, E'Mei Mountain)-Chengdu, take about 10-15 days and you can pass the famous National Road 318 (Shanghai-Tibet), you can meet so many travelers from different parts of china and see astonishing views all the road and visit the Tibetan communities without entering the Tibet autonomous region (need apply for foreigners) This road is like our faith for every Chinese travelers 😂

you should also go to southern part of Anhui province to see those charming ancient villages and natural beauty

Actually, regarding travel route for Yunnan province, if you want to go to Xishuangbanna, it is actually in the South, but unfortunately, Dali is in the North West of Kunming, which means the directions contradicts each other. So if you want a more diverse experience, you may actually need to go to Xishangbanna first then to the rest of the province because the place is in a corner. Otherwise you guys can just ignore Xishuangbanna completely. As for Kunming, there should be an old food street on Guanghua Street (google map), this food street is situated between the intersection of Wuyi Rd and Zhengyi Rd.
