This is a nice topic that needs to be studies more. I have my 30 fig trees all in ground in Maryland zone 7A. I had them in pots on th deck but my wife needed the space for her flowers. I would love to report on my results in a few years. Thank you for posting and thank you for writing your Zone in the title because many people don't.

Great video! Great topic of importance! Ive seen other videos on sunlight, but your view on the angles is very very important and not really discussed with other channels. You are definitely the OG of figs!

Hello my friend, very interesting how you bury your VBD fig tree under 4ft. of leaves and use a rubber industrial tarp for winter protection. Now when you say a rubber industrial trap, do you mean a insulated cement blanket you use to wrap your other in ground fig trees? Would you consider burring a perforated PVC pipe within the fig tree (S) so to avoid mold or rot? Thank you for the great advice. Best Wishes GOD bless!

So on this method, I don’t not use the insulated cement blanket. The tarp is a water resistant heavy duty rubbery type tarp. It is very heavy and does not let water in. I don’t do anything with pvc or anything else. The leaves are enough to keep warm. The tarp does the work for keeping it dry. I will being doing a video on this method this season, with another video on how I wrap my trees without the burlap. The burlap was back up because my new wrap never came on time. Plus that new cement wrap is no good. Thanks for the support brother! Blessings 🙏

RDB doesnt seem to like the heat so end of season im digging her up and moving her to first shade of the day position. i rushed in. im on sand at least and digging is easy

That is good to know about the rdb. I had a rdb but I gave it to a friend. I literally had it for 3 days. My experience with rdb is minimal. Though you planting it in sand type soil may dry out faster. I used to have a house out in cape cod and underneath the grass soil layer, it was pure sand. So it required more compost soil mix with extensive deep watering. Give me a update!
