I’ve watched several of these with these two amazing players and even though they have a bit different approach they seem to be getting progressively better as they allow each other the space to take the lead as the other does an excellent job of support. You’re both a treat to listen to.

@@F20ization Mmmm…… I don't think it's a exageration. He has played in various contexts, with all type of guitars. If you dig a bit on KZbin, you'll find a lot of stuff. Just to give an idea, when he was 18, he played with Jaco Pastorius during a while. There's videos where he's shredding some metal :-D On some others, he's comping behind a singer with a true creativity and insane groove. Bireli has 1. A stunning technic 2. A extendted harmonic knowledge (build mostly by ear I think) 3. A very very strong rhythm feel. That's what I call a complete musician :-D Cheers.

I have seen Birelli Lagrene back then when he was 14 like i was and he was exceptionally gifted, a bliss to watch and listen to and remained a life long inspiration to me ever since. I'm not that good of a guitarist, not bad, but away from that level, i'm a keyboardist, a drummer, a bassist, and then a guitarist... My dad, guitarist, scot of all trades on strings went there to the university "alter flugplatz". We had the evening of evenings. ❤

i believe that the best solo guitar is suppose to be very meaningful, the solo have to be more melodic , .no matter if is using 16 notes or 400 notes, thats the challenge, in this video i see Bireli Lagrene has more approach in the solo to be melodic, "a solo that paint a landscape , a solo that write story, and you never loose the story until the story is fading" Miles Davis used to say "music is a painting you can hear"
