Glad you enjoyed it! The coast is a beautiful place and I love it there. It's always a bonus when I can bring my wife and dog too

That shell was lovely . Last summer - on a day when there were over 16 waterfalls in the day as it was hammering down , there was a fall of about 6f with those in . Too heavy to collect - and likely to crumble ( in the soft shale ) . Boggle Hole YHA great spot too for an overnight - especially Sundays in term time for those that can do that

The shells around Robin Hoods Bay are incredible. I don't tend to collect them but can appreciate them for their beauty. I do like the YHA at Boggle for a drink/meal as well on the walks. It's a nice stopping point. I know a few people who use the Whitby Abbey one as base for their hunts too!

@@dinoskool yes - the Whitby one is great too - and near the brewery 😀. I’ve never set out to collect shells either but those were beautiful and fresh for sure

She did say she liked the little pyrite one of the bits she picked up. Otherwise she doesn't come out hunting much. She's down for 1-2 hrs but my adventures tend to be much longer and she gets bored. That's ok though as we have our own hobbies. As for Boggle Hole, I know some people who have had a lot of luck down there but think there is also a persistence required to have lots of crap days for that one exceptional find you might have there
