This game genuinely made me feel insanely sorry for Eggman. He felt so attached to Sage that he thought of her as his own daughter, just for her to selflessly sacrifice herself without a second thought for him and Sonic, who is supposed to be her and eggman's mortal enemy. It was so heartwarming to hear him call her daughter, and yet so depressing that she was ripped from him so quickly, and we even had to see him grieving at the end.

Yea for me Sage was the heart of the game, every single time there was a cutscene with her i got so enthusiastic to see what she was going to say, i felt so sorry for her when she cried seeing the friendship between Sonic and Tails, like they were family, and she wanted that too, also she was so cute in this first scene when she smiled/giggle and cover her mouth with her hand, i hope Sega brings her back because she deserves to come back, and with her body, not just being a voice in a computer

This is the only other sonic game that gave me that hype feeling at the end, like in SA1 and 2, the fun feeling of just exploring, and rushing through the levels as fast as you can in cyber space 1-2 is apparently the hardest to get an S on but I got 59.12 seconds. Bravo Sega keep Sonic in this direction.

Dude the fact they gave the rest of the cast development makes this one of the best stories in the sonic series for me. Eggman, Amy, Tails, Knuckes and even Sonic showed their base personalities being built upon by this game and I love it

What i loved the most about this game is the storybuilding around Chaos’s ancestor, they seemed like such a peaceful race before The End came and destroyed their home world. And i love that they were drawn to earth in a way because the chaos emeralds became binded to the master emerald as seen in the 4th island flashbacks. What i’m most thrilled about is that Chaos wasn’t the only one of his kind, but he’s sadly the only survivor, just like Knuckles is the last echidna

Yes, I was surprised that they talk about chaos race. But the one thing I’m still confuse is the master emerald, because since the master emerald was calling to the chaos emeralds, and bringing the chaos race to earth, how and why was it calling to the chaos emerald’s? And what does it have to do with the master emerald? Ik chaos was the one who was inside the master emerald in sonic adventure. But does that mean the main chaos the first one of the master emerald and his race didn’t know about it or did they knew about the master emerald? I know this is a dumb question, but I really like the lore and story in the sonic games, and since sonic frontier reference the sonic idw comics, and maybe setting up for the future of the next sonic game, i really want the story of sonic and his friends to go on and feeling some of the plot line and maybe bring some stuff back from the other sonic games.

@@Kinglight503 the ancients predates the echidnas by a longshot, long before the master emerald was ever in their protection, and the master emerald is essencially a giant chaos emerald, and its probably because of their similar powers and all that, that the chaos emeralds got binded to the master emerald when they got to close to earth

@@purgeblue this also makes me think about the chaos and echidna races and who came up the whole "servers are 7 chaos emeralds" thing, did the chaos race and echidnas share knowledge? they must have since knuckles (and probably eggman) got transported to the islands from sky sanctuary, there is something that does bother me though and that's the fact that chaos (as in chaos from the adventure games) is treated as a god of sorts by the echidnas witch does kinda blow my theory out of the water. ether way this game was the best possible thing to happen to the franchise since the adventure games and colors (no not the mess we got with the remake).

I freakin hated the way they show the good guys celebrating like nothing happened while Robotnik lost Sage and looks totally dejected. It could've been a powerful moment for Sonic to just come over and be like "hey, good game out there" or SOMETHING like that. When I was playing, I got CHILLS from the absolute PERFECT beat drop at 7:03 "YOU HAVE FOUGHT MACHINES AND GODS. THEY WERE MIGHTY? THEY WERE FINITE. I AM INFINITE." If sage died and didn't come back this would have been the saddest sonic death in history. You have to remember that Sage is an AI, and through this game, it built an emotion. It developed such emotions to protect sonic, eggmans greatest enemy, and die for it. How they did it was just amazing with cutting back. You can see sage looked back to herself, and knew she wouldn't come back, but she knew she had to do it to save sonic. Even typing this is so sad man. Only tragic part was the sonic didn't say shit when he got back to earth. Didn't even cheer up eggman.

Okay so it's obvious that voice at the end is not Sage. The icon that shows up is The End's insignia, an infinity sign, "They are finite, I am INFINITE". And The End has been shown multiple times changing voices and being deceptive, stopping at nothing for it's own agenda. With this in mind, even IF that voice is Sage, they absorbed The End, meaning The End is still inside Sage either way, so no matter what, we will be seeing The End soon.

Im kinda curious what Robotnic did. The whole team developed the World Build alot, we can see there are soo many platforms / mini cyberspace like RHEA ISLAND / 4th Island. Anyone else notice they basically ripped off the shadow sacrifice finale from Sonic Adventure 2 here? It's a very similar context for an ending. Final battle in space, character teased as the villain is actually the hero who sacrifices themselves in the end for everyone.

Wasn't expecting the final boss to include a Galaga level. The game isn't bad but I'd rather have more cyberspace than Breath of the Wild open world puzzles, fishing simulator, grinding for medals, and mini games of carrying items from one side to another. Cyberspace levels are only a minute long... Would like more Sonic gameplay in the Sonic game please

I wonder? Is this a metaphoric final boss? Like the boss is named "The End" and there for meaning the boss was meant to be a literal meaning that it was trying to end the sonic series for the final time but sonic says no to that and destroying the end and by metaphorically saying this is not the end for the sonic franchise and saying there will be more sonic games to come?

@@chadpeterson5698 The End is a bit too much of a “Generic Doomsday Villain” to be on the same level as Mephiles. Had it been given a clear moral agency and slightly more sadistic personality it definitely would’ve been on Mephiles’ level, but as it stands it’s Near Pure Evil at best. Also, this game officially cements Eggman as an anti-hero in my book as this game has proved that he hasn’t shed any previous redeeming qualities that he did in Forces, is still willing to team up with Sonic without double-crossing him in the end, and even gained a new redeeming quality in the form of his genuine love and care for Sage as he sees her as a daughter sorta similar to Bowser’s genuine love and care for Bowser Jr.

@@Rediscool9 actually The End does have a personality, as it manipulates Sonic into freeing it and it mocks him throughout the final battle even questioning why Sonic even bothers with his heroism seeing it as pointless which shows that it at least has a personality and any moral agency issues are either weak or non existent as it’s shown to be aware of it’s nature and it is shown to understand heroism in a way. But yes I do agree that Eggman is now much closer to a hero than he previously was.

@@chadpeterson5698 Okay, I’ll give The End the benefit of the doubt and say that it has a clear personality, but I still am not really sure it has a clear moral agency. The fact that it QUESTIONS why Sonic continues being a hero honestly just makes it’s moral agency more questionable and the fact that it’s literally called “THE END” meaning “The end and destruction of everything” makes it very hard to determine its moral agency. I think it suffers from the same problem that Cursa from Mario + Rabbids has (funnily enough both are sentient AI’s that are referred to as an “it”) in that while they both have sadistic personalities, they have moral agency issues.
