The two things that were my world are dead now.. killed.. they gave me 17 years of happiness and love.. they made me smile even through the bitterest tears. They were my two beautiful pet pheasants.. This was obviously chosen for the film 'Last Night in Soho' due to the menacing 'eek-eek' sounds of the piercing, high-pitched strings a la Bernard Hermann's classic 'Psycho' theme motif which went on to inspire so many horror films & is a staple of slasher films today. Decades before 'Last Night in Soho', I used to think this song was going to be about murder/knife attacks due to this sound being used throughout just like it's use in another pop song from the same era which is 'Delilah' by Tom Jones (a Welsh classic for obvious reasons but unfortunately is now deemed controversial as it's somehow seen to promote knife crime & misogynistic violence 😑 - I don't think so and think it's unfairly been blacklisted with woke PC cancel-culture being blown out of proportion unnecessarily. It's a fictional song & we all know that... like many other songs, movies, novels, TV shows etc.)
