You guys were a great sounding board for one of the most unique talents in the opera world. She looked so beautiful. Thank you.

This was such a fun discussion I'm glad I stumbled upon it in my YT suggested feed! I had the pleasure of seeing her live in the last concert my grandmother and I saw before she passed. I had JUST gotten my driver's license and I proudly drove grandma to hear James Levine conduct Mahler's 3rd with Stephanie Blythe as the soloist at the Boston Symphony Orchestra. To this day the best live concert I ever heard. Leaving the concert, there was a snow storm that was WAAYY heavier than it was supposed to be. I made it back to Grandma's house and realized how long my drive home would be, and I sheeply suggested "This might be a tough ride home" and she INSTANTLY said "oh you're not driving home in this young man, you're staying at my house tonight!" "Yes, ma'am." So glad to have that memory.

I'm so glad I stumbled across this. I am a former ballet dancer and classical musician but I have been in love with singers and opera since I was 20. I even worked as a dancer at The Met, HGO and Dallas Opera. Even though I didn't reach the heights of success as these singers it was very therapeutic to listen to the highs and lows of having a career in the performing arts. I was in it for almost 30 years and it is very hard. Thanks for this inspiring interview!

Stephanie is such a phenomenal singer. We’ve witnessed her artistry at the Met many times. Her openness is so fresh and great. Lovely human being.

Truly this is my favorite show! I've been a fan of opera since I was a child and have had the good fortune to hear a number of great, legendary artists perform with the San Francisco Opera and at the Met. However, to hear such candid, intelligent conversation about my favorite art form is a rare privilege. You don't hold back, and I applaud you for that. This particular episode is one of the best. Blythe is a joy to listen to and watch and I didn't want the visit to end. Please...please continue with this series and might you consider, and perhaps you already have, interviews with retired singers. I can think of quite a few, but Martina Arroyo quickly comes to mind!

So great to see Stephanie Blythe and you together in an interview Sondra. Both you and Keri did a wonderful job of steering this thoughtful artist through all the avenues that she so effortlessly travels as a singer, artist, writer, creator. How nice that Blythe is so generous about the previous generation of artists who came before your generation: Freni, Louis Quilico, Ghiaurov, Rosalind Elias, and Teresa Stratas. Another brilliant SCREAMING DIVAS adventure. Bravi!

This was probably one of my favorite episodes to date. I absolutely adore everything about Stephanie and am so thankful to be able to work with her, as part of the ensemble at the Met, from time to time. It’s like a masterclass in singing and life every time! But this spoke volumes to me. All of her wisdom was exactly what I needed to hear. I really hope you guys are seriously considering doing an episode or a couple of them on peri menopause/menopause because we literally have no one to turn to who is familiar with what happens to women and their voices as we all eventually go through this. Big hugs to you, Keri and Sondra!!❤️

A great conversation with an amazing woman with a voice, that I agree with Sondra, I thought would be an international superstar. It was great to hear her that she is so comfortable with how her career went and indeed her life! I totally enjoyed that!!

Hello Sondra, I just heard the unfortunate news about your mother and I wanted to take this opportunity to say that I am so sorry for your loss. I believe your mother would be proud to know that she gave birth to the greatest opera soprano in the world. Thank so much for this brilliant interview and for continuing the ScreamingDivas through this difficult time. Love, Vivien Iannetta

Dear Vivian - Thank you for your very kind words. Mom WAS very proud but also allowed me to stumble and fall often, too, so that I could learn my lessons on my own. She will be SO miss by SO many. Big hugs and thanks, Sondra

Ms Blythe is erudite, perspicacious , unashamedly honest , hilarious and of course an amazing talent. Her Handel/Bach recording is stunningly beautiful and a huge personal favourite. Illuminating conversation like three friends sitting around your kitchen table. Please accept my sad condolences Sondra. I have heard you talk about your parents many times in interviews. They possessed such a beautiful altruism to give their daughter to music and all of us. I will never tire of saying you brought the tears at the Usher Hall in 2019. Unforgettable.

Singing abroad sounds so glamorous, but it’s not so, especially when you want to have a family and husband, maybe you could talk more about it… To make a good living as a singer in your own country is a luxury. Kudos, Stephanie!

These days body worshiping has been sugarcoated as self care or discipline but we are in an image obsessesed society, it’s madness! That has NOTHING TO DO with talent or art.
