Thank you. That gave me the confidence to dismantle, clean, grease and reassemble. Important note: You put the spring back in the wrong way. The plastic covered part of the spring should be at the bottom (furthest from the seat). This is how it was when you took it out (and when I took it out of my post too). 👍

Bottle brush set is useful for cleaning and regreasing the internal parts. Cheap too. And the other end of a chain brush has the bristle length to get right inside the spring.

You didn't use required grease and spray for this job as it's written on the manual.

Not to be critical, but the plastic sleeve that goes over the spring should have been on the bottom of the seat post as was shown when you removed the spring. I'm not sure if it really makes a difference, but they probably added the sleeve for a reason.

007vsMagua I actually took it off outside of the video and cleaned beneath. Have to be honest - I’m not sure exactly what function it serves to be honest, but it must do something!

Maybe has something to do with making the grease last longer. I bought the NCX to use with my new eBike. I picked up a RadCity 19" and I'm still setting everything up for when the weather brakes. I just want to get to know everything about my new bike and how to properly maintain and work on it. It's kind of intimidating and I should be taking it on its first test ride in about a month.

The plastic sleeve does nothing as far as the function of the spring or seatpost. It is there to distinguish that it is the medium spring. The light spring and heavy springs have different color sleeves on them. Where it sits on the spring makes no difference.

and if you change the spring and put a nitrogen piston (ram gas!) of the same strength as the spring, wouldn't it be better?

Where do you start when you want to adjust the tightness? How tight do you screw the screw? You state that you have no line drawn, well, how do you come up with the line?

I've had 2 of these come apart where the bottom post par attaches to the top part. Not sure what is causing it.

i have same seat now it is shaking. By the time it become gap in movable joints this causing wobbles the seat. how can i rapair it any of clue

TIP ... you need some very fine machine oil to lubricate the pivoting points. (oil from my razor works fine)

For some reason other sources of information say that the pivot pins should be taken out, cleaned and regreased. Otherwise spraying oil on top of a dirty grease which might not penetrate all the way trough is said to be pointless.

If I were to venture a guess, I'd say your saddle is a Fabric Cell. How comfy is it, if I may enquire?

@@IceReef Thank you, My friend. The Ergons and the SQlabs are very nice saddles, too. I've had a few Cane Creek ThudBuster LTs: they're very nice, as well. I'm also curious to try the equally as expensive as the ThudBusters, By Schulz G2. LT suspension seat posts. I ordered a SunTour one for the girlfriend: I hope, it doesn't disappoint. Hi - I'm using this on my Carrera Vulcan e bike at the moment. It is good at ironing out some of the nastier bumps yes. It won't be a substitute for a full suspension bike, but it will definitely help if you take a hardtail over rough trails

I like my hard tail and like the idea of using a suspension seatpost when needed but then being able to go back to a full hard tail on those days when it's fun to ride one. Do you the suspension seat post all the time on your E Bike then. Or swap and change to the original as and when....?

In theory you can, but I wouldn't recommend this.

Hi mate - doesn't matter if you get the smaller one, as you can get shims for the seatpost which will enable any size of seat post (smaller of course) to be installed.

You have to clean your gear every once in a while to prolong its lifetime. Like old grease which needs to be removed and replaced because it collects lots of dirt and sand which will damage metals. It can also cause the moving parts to loosen or get stuck.
