Well done. The slow motion really showed how it works. To me, it appeared like it was set a little too soft or a stiffer spring was needed. When she went over the big bump and also when she went down the curb the seat post completely bottomed out. My thinking is I’d want it to take up the biggest shocks and maybe sacrifice a little comfort on the smaller bumps. Thoughts?
@EbikeEscape2 жыл бұрын
The preload can also be adjusted. I feel like the seatpost is very good on the big bumps which you notice. On smaller bumps it does help but you'll notice more when you hop on a bike without a suspension seatpost.

I use also one on my e-bike for more than a year. The comfort is like a old Citroën CX. Very smooth and comfortable. The important thing for maintaining is to lubricate it very well from time to time. Otherwise the wear on the mechanical parts increase fast. That’s actually the only drawback. I use a very good product called Polytron PL for this. After 1,5 year of use there is minor play on the mechanical parts. Kind regards from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 (the bicycle country…..😉)

Hey, thanks! The one downside on the RadRunner is that your seat won't match up nicely if you're using the rear passenger pad. I've heard from many folks who found that proprietary seat uncomfortable. That's a good review and I think this seat post will also fit the Radwagon 4. If one examines the bike one will see that it has a sleeve that fits inside the large frame and it is fastened with a quick release on the frame. It then it has a 27.2 mm seat post inside the sleeve and it is also held in place with a quick release. The 27.2 mm Radwagon 4 seat post also has a detent running the length of the seat post and it is used in conjunction with an allen head screw situated in the sleeve to prevent the seat post from turning or twisting. There is also another allen head screw near the bottom of the 27.2 mm seat post to prevent removing it from the sleeve. One simply needs to remove the allen head screw from the sleeve and the 27.2 mm seat post comes right out. Most seat posts don't have the detent but the most common size is 27.2 mm so literally any 27.2 mm seat post should fit. I haven't tried to fit any other seat posts yet but I have taken it apart in order to examine it as I want to install either a suspension seat post or a dropper type of seat post on my Radwagon4.

Hi. One question about the preload. To make the suspension softer, screw clockwise (+) or anticlockwise (-)?
@EbikeEscape3 жыл бұрын
From my understanding it is more about preventing the suspension from topping out or bottoming out. Here is the instruction booklet which can help you adjust it (search for preload): www.srsuntour.com/fileadmin/user_upload/Downloads/Consumer/Bike/Owners%20manuals/Archive/2012/SEAT_POST_MANUAL_2012_EN.pdf
@sbdreamin2 жыл бұрын
ok, i just installed one of these. If the seat goes down TOO far when you first sit on it, you need to screw it in clockwise, which will make the 'preload' harder, ie, your seat won't go down too far when you are just sitting on it. Of course, if it hardly goes down at all, turn the adjuster counter clockwise to loosen it up. You can have someone judge this by looking at the silver suspension tube that is going to go DOWN when you sit on the seat. Have them look at that tube before you sit, then tell you what percentage of the tube goes down when you just sit on the seat. It shouldn't go down more than about 1/3 of the total distance of that tube. I hope that helps.

I'm not positive but I think it's just a maximum adjustment. SR Suntour would be better to answer the question. If you find out let me know!

It is so it doesn't bottom out and cause damage. I have adjusted mine. I found my instructions for the post, and that what it says there.

When did this seatpost form Suntour first came out, and is the sp12 model any different than the sp17?

I think it has been out for some time. No idea what the difference is between the SP17 but it looks like you can't even buy the SP17 online.

@@EbikeEscape I found out out that the sp17 is the exact same seatpost but sold at different diameter size - 30.9. Many stores have the NCX sp12 and then a selection of different diameters, and if you choose the 30.9 diameter you actually bought the "newer" sp17

Will the 30.9mm seat post fit on your Ride1Up LMT'D?
@EbikeEscape4 жыл бұрын
Yes! I might upgrade at some point or try a different brand out to compare. I imagine at some point in the next year I'll get a different ebike which might replace the LMT'D - just because I want to continue to feature new models on the channel.

Which size will fit on a lectric lite?
@EbikeEscape2 жыл бұрын
You would need a 31.6 seat post or a smaller size and a shim. Here is a link to the correct size SR Suntour NCX Seatpost (amzn.to/3tSDayX affiliate link). Also just know that the XP Lite has a really long seat to accommodate taller riders. You will lose some of that height if you go to a suspension seat post. -JT

Why is there a trend with helmets that look like you’re a jockey about to go for a horse back ride?
@EbikeEscape3 жыл бұрын
Lots of people gravitate towards helmets that look a bit more unique than just the standard helmets with holes. I think it's great to have options, but of course everyone has their preference. No problem with the more standard helmets if that is what you like.

It still cushioned some of the bump, which adds a good bit of comfort. We have played with the springs since this and have made it so it bottoms out much less.
