Didn't the second time. But what an electric, fantastic moment to see an under appreciated human being whose heart was in the right place (could be most Presidents, right?) get to open such a symbolic cultural event in our history. Hopefully, we can put our swords aside to appreciate President George W Bush and President Obama some day and just enjoy our shared American experience. What an awesome moment.

Bush Jr. said he was proud of this moment. I think he liked the fact that his parents came out to such a crowd one last time. And still, I somewhat feel like preparing for multiple days, getting out of their beds and riding over half the stadium to do this was slightly ... empty ... Maybe it is just me expecting too much, like a short speech to motivate the players, maybe. Anyhow, he was the last US president, during whose presidency I was not born yet. Sure, his bio seems controversial, but it is still nice of him to do this for his countrymen. Rest in Peace.

Now that is a great American. In my opinion, the greatest one term US president. The Bush family just seem like really cool people. Someone you could ask for advice on life. Captain of his Yale baseball team, a WW 2 pilot and president! They don't make them like this anymore. His son said it best. "The most decent man I know, my dad." It makes me think of my father and how he and my mom made me into the man I am today. I miss them everyday since they have passed on, and I am so grateful to have had them as my parents.
