Hi Paul. What is the oil capacity of the supercharger ? Is there a specific oil level that it should be filled to ? In my experience, when you have a mid level filler hole, that is the full level. When it is not intended to be the full level, then there is usually some form of dipstick. I can not seem to find these specs. Replacing only what I removed does not tell me if I was low on oil to begin with. I can think of no other oil change procedure that follows this methodology. I thank you for your thoughts !

You are correct in the oil level being to the plug hole. I😊

Paul- how do you take off the pulleys and other items that are in the way of getting to the super charger bolt. In your video you already have access to that area? Can you show the steps that need to be done to get to the area? Thank you

Good day Paul !!Excellent video ! I have a C32 amg which is the same engine as here. Question , I have the bolt and the washer off the supercharger pulley. The pulley does not want to slide off? Do I need to take those those two pins off, are they removable and if so how would I go by doing that. I see that there are groves for those pins so I am assuming you can , just don’t want to be too forceful. Thank you

I see that the snap ring is different than the original on the supercharger pulley at the end of your video. Did you change that out during a bearing replacement, or was that like that?

Paul. Hope you can help. While driving, a number of the "idiot lights" came up. The Brake Wear, BAS/ ESP, ABS, Brake, and Check Engine light on my 05 Crossfire Conv. 6 Spd. The top was down and would not come up, The rear wing will not go down. Brake lights do not work. I brought the XFire to dealer and found code of P0600. They could not find the issue. I read that possible issue is a faulty brake switch. I purchase a new one BUT when I went to replace it, it was not there. There is not even a plug that would fit on the switch. There is nothing there. No wires, nothing. It does not look like the switch was ever installed as there is a blue dab of paint where the plunger would hit on the brake pedal, but does not look like it has never been worn off. HELP!

Thanks very much for the instructions Paul. Before I attempt this, I assume the supercharger idler pulley next to the super charger pulley has to come off. What tools are needed and to what torque specifications do you need to tighten that bolt once you put the idler back on? Or can this be accessed without removing that idler pulley?
@CrossfireRepairsByPaul2 жыл бұрын
just remove the belt, nothing else

Thanks for all you do Paul! I haven't really wrote a lot of thank you notes but I really appreciate all your videos and I know many others who don't post here do, too. ONE more question...I read in numerous threads to just refill the oil till it leaks out of the hole. You basically refilled exactly what you pulled out. What's your take on that method? I guess the reason why some refill till it leaks is that there might have been too little oil in there to begin with if it's been many years since it's been replaced.
@CrossfireRepairsByPaul2 жыл бұрын
@@nickweissflog4883 you are correct, I should have showed remove all the oil and then fill till it comes out of the hole. Thanks for that mention, I will have to fix this in the detail explanation of the video

Hi Paul! While I am doing the oil change I also am installing a scattershield for the supercharger pulley. I made a mistake. While trying to take off the metal air hoses I loosened the pulley next to the supercharger pulley. Do you know if the screw needs to be torqued to specific pound ft of torque? Or just hand tighten?
@CrossfireRepairsByPaul2 жыл бұрын
@@nickweissflog4883 I dont have the torque specs handy but I just put them back snug with some lock tight

Paul, Do you know anyone who's used a full system scanner with success on a Crossfire? I've purchased and returned 4 different OBD2 full system scanner that promised to work with the Crossfire in performing full system scan and to clear SRS airbag codes..... none worked on the car. They go through the system and check everything (about 10min.) and once finished the they all state the same thing, ' communication failure.....blah blah'. I retest it as 2004 SLK 320 and it is able to complete the test and show the fault codes but can't clear the SRS codes.

GManGT my scanner works fine. I’d have to check the brand after work though. I kinda lucked out, bought it off amazon at random and it worked
