I read The Marrow Thieves and loved it. The author struck me as someone I'd be happy to pick up anything she wrote, so I'm excited to find a copy of Empire of the Wild. I've seen Snyder's Poison Study series around and about at thrift shops and such for ages and kept passing them by because I have so many series to catch up on and others I want to start, but I broke down and brought home the first two books recently. Ditto for The Graceling series, and I think my library has all four books available. Those Hitchhiker's Guide... books look wonderful. I still haven't read all five of the books, but I think I have all or most of them on my shelves.

The Graceling series! I read them when they first came out and again recently and they hold up so well. Has more in common with current YA than the YA popular in the late 2000’s. Ahead of its time.

I keep seeing The Gilded Ones in book stores and have been so tempted to pick it up so this might be my push! After reading the silence of the girls I picked up a dark academia book called Madam by Pheobe Wynne which follows a classics teacher and I think will involve the merging of greek mythology and the normal world at a boarding school in Scotland, be warned about the bad scottish dialect writing but luckily there aren't many lines of it. I have now bought both The Iliad translated by Caroline Alexander and The Odyssey translated by Emily Wilson as well so hope to read those soon!

The Chronicles of Ixia is my favourite series of all time, it is excellent in my opinion. Just an FYI though, that box set is slightly misleading (I have it too). There's actual an additional trilogy which goes in the middle and follows a different character. You don't absolutely HAVE to read it, but you'll be spoiled for it if you don't

Hi Jean! Long time watcher, first time commenter here :) Just wanted to say I love watching your videos, you're always super friendly and have really thoughtful and interesting things to say, and I always get good book recommendations from your videos. Btw I have started reading Juliet Marillier because of you lol Also, I think you'll really enjoy the Graceling series, I read them years ago but they are still some of my favorites (I need to read the recent release Winterkeep though). You may already know about this series as well, but it's the Lady Sherlock series by Sherry Thomas since you love everything Sherlock Holmes-related. I recently caught up to the latest book in the series and I think you'll enjoy these as well! The mysteries are pretty good, the characters are lovable, the 4th book has LGBTQ+ rep, and the romance(s) are so sweet (at least in my opinion). Thanks for making your videos!

I read The Sanatorium recently, and really liked it. It's a debut novel I've understood, and so there are a couple of flaws. But it's really creepy and well done. There's one scene especially (in a penthouse) that really freaked me out :-) I guess the novel is the beginning of a series.
