Tried to comment a few minutes after you posted this but for some reason the system wouldn't accept it. Anyhow, I ran into the same problem with my Bullitt's original wheels. It was pointed out to me maybe have them stripped and fresh clearcoat applied as the best solution (which a friend of mine did at home), but before they got very bad I did the Brembo brake upgrade and had to buy new wheels and the Bullitt rims are headed to my Explorer. As usual, you are one of the best in this business with clear, precise and with an honest opinions. Keep it up.

Haha all good brother, KZbin does that sometimes. Very interesting to hear your bullitt wheels experienced this too... Think I'll do some digging on the matter now to see if it's a common issue with these wheels. I'm pretty sure the clearcoat did in fact peel off though now that you mention it. I noticed it happening early this year but thought it was caked on dirt at first so ignored it 🤦‍♂️ And mind letting me know how much it costed moving to a brembo kit? Did you pay to get the job done or diy? Thanks as always for the support brother 👊

As always brother you do realistic tests! The wheel definitely had a huge improvement!! I keep telling myself my car is 14 years old, there will be some imperfections. Hey, look up Big Brake Upgrade '05-'09 Mustang here on KZbin. You'll use rebuilt Brembo 4 piston calipers BUT you have to check to see if they clear your rims first. They wouldn't clear my stock Bullitt wheels and I had to buy wheels that would. I went with a set of FR500's.

Appreciate the tip brother. I actually knew about people doing this for a while now, and have considered it for a future upgrade. What I seen people do is get a set of 4 piston brembo's from 2015 GTs off a junkyard car and fit it to their 05-09, so I'm assuming that's kinda what you're talking about as well. Ofcourse as you mentioned you gotta get wheels to fit but that's actually so dope that you did the swap to yours. Did you do it yourself or pay? If you paid how much did it come up to approx. in total? And more importantly how crazy does the stopping power feel now on the car? And very nice choice on the wheels!

if i could help some, use wheel acid first to break everything down and then use a alkaline cleaner to get the rest off
