i collected in the early 90's comic boom....as did everyone else. SPAWN #1? worthless. Death of Superman? worthless. its the classics and the real vintage stuff that will be worth most....everyone keeps everything now, and thus nothing is truly rare, aside from the odd variants or recalls.
@snakes34256 жыл бұрын
A comic being featured on Atop the Fourth Wall or having a movie made probably will increase the value briefly until the hype dies down, and with AT4W suddenly everyone wants to find Rob Liefeld comics from the early 90s to see how bad it is for themselves.

Plus, last year the USDA announced that copies of "Death of Superman" were approved to use as cattle feed, so long as they didn't constitute more than 5% of the animal's total nutrient consumption by weight. So you can now sell your unwanted copies for about 10 cents for every 100 pounds, and it's okay if the black plastic bags are still on them.

There’s profiteering and hobbyist concepts. Super-Collectors are expecting comics to appreciate like a stock which is frivolous thinking especially if the book is commonplace in a current digital book market. Some 40 year old books could be worth merely double or less than their original purchase. The thousands they spend could be used to build a business or an appraisal company that rates the very books they overpay for now.

It appears to me that his obsession is in my view misplaced. The video shows him examining trade paperbacks. Sure, I can see wanting a good copy, but tpbs rarely appreciate in value. I understand however being fairly observant of individual comic issues. Sometimes you can sell them for a nice amount. However, the real big money is to be found in silver and golden age books, the ones that are seen in the video in the hard plastic slabs in the beginning of the video.
