This film is portraying what could, might, possibly etc have happened, if the US had been successful in their bid to build the successor to the Hadron Collider. No mention in the movie of CERN, cost, personnel, or anything remotely resembling the project now underway. This truly bad movie has obviously had numerous cuts to it that have ruined the continuity needed to keep the audience in their seats to it's bizarre conclusion.

The more people that know about them the more explaining they'll have to do and they don't like people knowing what's up their sleeves.
