super dream

I'm not superstitious at all. I really cannot explain this, and I sound like a crazy idiot but whatever. It's a story. It feels kind of cool that it happened though. This was on the SNES super mario world game if you wanna go check out the secret yourself. I will have to double check which castle it was in though. Might have been Lemmy's castle. If there's a snake block just follow it down the hole I promise it'll work.
Also my face is in this one. Kind of a face reveal if you want to put it that way. I was nervous about showing my face in my videos for the longest time but the longer I've had this channel the more I think it's more effort than it's worth. I mean I wasn't gaining anything by being hidden. So enjoy my ugly mug and long no-haircut-in-several-months hair. And my dice.
Sometimes I think about the origin of the universe and then I'm like "but what came before THAT" and it's kind of freaky. There's so much mystery in that it kind of makes you think like what else don't we know? Are psychic abilities really possible? Probably not, and even after my premonition dream I don't think any differently about superstitious stuff. But it's fun to think about what if it were real.

One time something kind of similar happened to me, except it was a thought, not a dream. On a plane to Mexico with my family. To help myself stay calm, I closed my eyes and imagined I was swinging on a swing at the playground that was at the elementary school I went to, facing the play structure and some of my friends running around doing silly stuff. Around a month later, around a week before school ended, that exact thought from the plane was… actually happening. Same swing, same kids, same position, everything the same. Maybe a coincidence, maybe not.

The next day (I think) I was filling in for my sister going to an open house for high school. I've experienced almost exactly the same thing, but with a Zelda game. I had been playing it all day and at some point I'm getting frustrated with not being able to figure out the dungeon, so my mom just makes me get off for the day since it's late anyway and I'm getting visibly irritated. Reluctantly i go to bed. I dream about this level and exactly how to solve the puzzle i was on, and then wake up bright and early the next morning with an obsessive need to try what i saw in my dream. So I do my best to explain this to my mom who just looks at me like I'm nuts, but eventually caves and watches in amazement as i flawlessly complete whatever puzzle it was that had completely baffled me the day before.

Actually there’s studies that show people who take a nap before completing a puzzle dream about it and the solution

True, but in those cases, the puzzle is one where you know all the rules and/or pieces. Like a rubix cube. You know how the puzzle works, but you may not know how to solve it, and your brain can continue trying to solve it subconsciously or while you sleep. This is a different phenomenon. This is him gaining new information he did not have in a dream that turned out to be 100% accurate. Now, maybe he's lying, and this never happened. Personally, I believe him, because I have experiences similar events, and so has a girl I dated.

I've had consitent and minor variants of this phenomena occur throughout my life. Essentially, my dreams will either start or end with what seems to be a completely random event. I'll typically retain this knowledge in a backlog in my mind, and whenever the event plays out the exact same way, I chock it up to a sort of prophecy.

The videogame scenario is also not equivalent to finding a box full of cheese and m&ms in your attic. Humans are incredibly good at pattern recognition. We even see patterns where there aren't any (like faces in clouds etc). Videogames always follow a strict pattern of level-design that your brain filled in, but finding a random box with highly specific and unpredictable objects is not your brain completing a pattern. If I (an unspiritual reductionist atheist) had a dream like the box scenario happen to me twice or more, it would be enough to make me belief that humans have extra something like extrasensory perception. But the videogame example is just normal human brains doing their normal human brain thing.

@@starsong3 Yes. I mean I don't know which Mario game he played, but in Super Mario Bros 1 there were a lot of secret places. I remember I was amazed when I found one of the warp zones. There was even one level where it went on forever, and to beat it you had to go under to a somewhat hidden part of it.

I had a premonition...but I can't be sure if it'll ever happen, because it was a vision of the end of the world as we know it. And no, it wasn't influenced by any movie or game or anything I'd ever seen, because it was wholly and entirely unlike any apocalyptic movie I'd ever seen. It was all together new and stress-inducing, and felt so real, like I was actually there. I woke up sweating and my heart racing. I still remember it. I would love to make it into a movie somehow, so others can see what I saw. I think it would have a big impact.
