Thanks man! I'm super behind on uploads, I need to get this series wrapped up and posted

Pretty neat! I haven't had my cherry '91 bronco for even 2 weeks and looking at some major mods and upgrades. But, why a super duty axle and not an obs king-pin dana 60? Out of an F350, should be 110% bolt up, even if you do the reverse spring hanger mod.

Obs Dana 60 wouldn’t have bolted right up. They are still leaf spring axles. You could definitely go OBS axles but a OBS Dana 60 is rare and expensive cause every f-250 guy wants them. Super duty axles are more available, have a tighter turning radius, a unit bearing hub design and rear disk breaks. PROs and CONs for almost every swap. If you go 05+ super duty axle those are a little easier to swap cause it’s a coil spring design just like the Bronco.

@@electricsmith1650 It's been years since I helped on an F-150 conversion, but other than a notch at the front shackle mount and drilling holes to fasten the brackets, No welding or Fab required. But I have fallen down the rabbit hole of SD swaps and I agree it is a much better swap after watching and reading a lot of material.

The kit has actually come a long way and is now offered as a front bolt on kit instead of a weld on like mine! Another option you could do is run OBS leaf springs with a SD front. The OBS leafs are shorter and don’t poke out as much but the SD leafs are a much better ride.

You know '05+ front end is an almost bolt in deal with no kit needed. You also don't get that obnoxious crossmember in the front. To each their own.

True! But as the kids say. Leaf springs party harder 😂

@electricsmith1650 once you get a taste of it youll go 05 axle in the future. Did it with my bronco. Nearly bolted in and waaaay better then Leaf axles. Youll kick yourself for not doing it sooner

This truck is too deep to remove the leafs unless I decide I want to link it. If I want to redo something I’d probably just do it on a different chassis and at that point I would consider 05+

What pitman arm did you use? Did you have to modify it for the gm 1 ton rod end?
@electricsmith1650 Жыл бұрын
Just running the factory one drilled out for now. These are super duty axles not gm ones

So why do you wish you used the other swap kit instead?? Better ride quality?
@electricsmith16502 жыл бұрын
Ease of install and it wouldn't of been as tall. I think the ride quality would be the same.

This is the same kit that the F150 would use correct?
@electricsmith1650 Жыл бұрын
Yes same kit for a brick nose f150/ bronco. I’d recommend doing a reverse shackle kit though. It fits the brick nose frame better!

What do you need to do with this thing that requires such huge Axles?

I been sighing for a year straight at this comment.
