I cut off the length of yarn that does not complete a color row in order to keep stripes straight and not jagged, but some people.prefer the jagged look. It is all a matter of what each one is looking for.

I love. The look of this pattern, and I would love to know how well it would be in a a #3 baby yarn, using a much smaller hook. Glenda, you ate such a good teacher. Whenever I need to know something related to crochet, I always check to see if you have avodeo that would help. And.. I love the Stitch of the Week series...

You do a wonderful tutorial. You pace things well and speak clearly. You show things very well, too. Kudos! for your technique! The yarn on this is pretty but didn't really appeal to me. I wondered if this could be done with fine yarn and a smaller hook to make it almost lacy. I think done in the colors I have in my head, it would make a very pretty newborn blanket. It struck me when you did the two-part edging. If the first edge was done in pale green and the second edge was done in pale pink, the two edges would look like a flower border. If the colors were kept very soft pastel, it would all look like a flower garden if done in solid baby yarns. What do you think? Any idea what the stitch count would need to be and what size hook I should try?
@CreativeGrandma
@CreativeGrandma 4 жыл бұрын
Thank You Judy, yes you can use a lighter weight yarn, you would use the stitch multiple of 3 plus 1 and then use the hook size recommended on your yarn label. Just use the stitch multiple to figure out your width and work until length desired ending on Row 3 as the last row worked. Your idea for the border sounds lovely!!

Hello Kelly, I just checked out Sirin's afghan, thank you for letting me know about her channel. This is a very popular stitch pattern used in many designs. afghans, cowls, sweater, etc. I see we both used the same stitch pattern, but the afghans are different if you compare the instructions for the completely finished afghan. Their are many afghan patterns made with this stitch and Sirin's afghan is beautiful as well, she uses less stitches and has a different border on hers.

Thank you for your reply. I believe she is in Turkey. Great access to those beautiful Ice yarns! I think she used a finer yarn for her blanket. It's fun to see how different yarns change things. I'm using your pattern with Roll With It Tweed. Can't wait to get the yarn you're using when it's back in stock. Love your channel. You are a great teacher. Stay safe and healthy. ❤

Yes guys do crochet too.

Hello Kenneth Mullen, I am so sorry you felt I was ignoring you. If you watch the last two times I tried to do a live stream youtube keep throwing me off. It took me 3 tries to do the live stream the other day and just 2 days ago I tried again on a saturday and it threw me off again 3 different times. I since had someone hook my computer up directly to the internet now and not wifi so I am hoping this fixes the problems. I tried very hard to try to do a live so I could just relax and talk to everyone. The other thing is sometimes the comments I see do not show up exactly as other people see them, so I am so sorry I did not see your comment. My uncle crochets as well as my own son and grandson, so I have nothing against men crocheting. I love Fiber spider and he is a man that crochets. As well as Mikie on the crochet crowd. So Please do not think I was ignoring you, I was just having to many problems trying to do the live stream, also comments were still going after my stream ended so there was delay there as well. I am hoping to test my system again in a day or two, and hoping we will get a chance to talk.
