Great video, thanks for the wisdom. I shoot on an outdoor range that doesn't mind if I pick up brass. I'm the only shooter that wants the brass. Find a scrap yard that will accept cartridge cases(some won't). Assure them you cull out any steel or aluminum cases and all live rounds and trade it for good soft lead. My last haul was a straight trade for a little over 200 pounds for excellent, soft sheet and conduit lead. Before that, I took home over $400. That was unusual, though- it took about three 30 gallon barrels full. That's a lot of brass.Makes a difference over buying it.

Ive been using this system for years although I think my brass wizzard is under a different brand, was ordered from an orchard company but is their model for brass not nuts. It almost seems counter productive at first as you will drop brass when you pick up a sitck or rock but the proof was how much more brass I started processing. It saves your back so you end up with so much more before you decide to quit. I have boxes full of sorted and cleaned brass that is probably mostly once fired.

LOL busting a gut. Your comment about a brass magnet reminded me of a joke I played on a nuke sub merrier.We would try to beat each other in getting the most brass.He was always telling skimmer jokes ( slang for a surface sailor ). At that time he didn't know that I was a surface sailor. I got a piece of copper pipe with end caps, it also had a piece of 1/2" steel rod in it. Wrapped a coil of wire hooked to 4 d cells and a switch. I had a dozen 308 shells packed with steel barrings a d dirt. I got the range boss in on the joke. I called it a non-ferris magnet. I got him good.His C.O. asked him if he got it working yet. LOL

I use the brass weasel all the time. The SmartWay is that when you're picking up brass and you only want pistol brass don't roll it over rifle brass. If you only want to pick up 45 then roll it over 45 only and not over the smaller calibers. You can choose what you want to pick up if you don't want 22s then don't run it over 22s. I reload 380 9 m and 45 so I only roll it over those cartridge cases. This keeps my sorting time down tremendously. Also in the straining containers there is an additional aluminum plate that you put inside of the yellow strainer it will sort 380s for you. I chose to buy my set from a dealer that provided all for strainers not everyone has the aluminum strainer for 380s. You have to have a Keen Eye to differentiate 380 from 9 mm this system I've been using for about 8 years and it has saved me hours of time well worth the purchase price

I have those... I use to go to the range to shoot, and then I'd pick up all the brass and give it to the recycler. It usually was enough to buy a decent amount of new ammo. (To repeat the cycle of free ammo) I overdid it once when I filled a whole nike gym bag worth of brass; the range staff questioned what I was doing when it looked like I had 50-60 lbs of it (with the obvious gait that comes with the weight) and the whole store heard me jingling out the door. They told me not to do it again... (I didn't realize back then that is how the subsidize a part of the range)

Looks good. But for that kind of money I'd rather just buy a couple of the 12x20 blue tarps (which I do have for this purpose). With two of those side by side, and rocks on the corners, you can catch almost all the brass you make (you have to decide where to stand when you shoot). I shoot in "farm grass" fields -- the grass is far too clumpy to roll around that brass wizard on it. I take a broom shooting, and sweep my brass up off the tarps. Pretty quick and easy.

Unfortunately the Freedom Munitions Brass Credit Program isn't worth it anymore. They only give $1.40 a pound and you have to make sure it's brass they actually reload for else they will take it out of your credit and presumably sell it for scrap themselves (kinda fucked). Just traded in 102lbs to a local scrap place and got $100 for it (.98/lb). way more than I would have gotten through FM. How's that? Because to send in 100 lbs of brass it probably would have cost $50+ for shipping. I would've been lucky to get .50 a pound. Also you have to fill out a sheet for each shipment plus you need to sort through it for anything they don't reload. Scrap place doesn't care. As long as it's brass they'll take it. They run a magnet through it to make sure it's all brass then weigh it, pay you for it and out the door. Anymore my rule is sort out anything I want (which I'm getting fairly stock piled so almost all of it is scrap) and the rest is in the bucket. Local range is almost always full of brass so I'm looking forward to making many trips to recycle this summer. P.S. Be on the look out for any brass marked FM or any that look brown because those are steel cases with a Brass "wash" on them.

+GetTheFO Better than nothing. But be aware that in many states the crime is equal for carrying a folding knife or a firearm within a couple hundred yards of a school. Being a minor, assuming your firearm is not registered to anyone (such as parents, relatives, friends etc. as they can be charged for your crime if registered to them) it makes sense to have it just in case if possible. Better judged by 12 than carried by 6. Stay safe and on the straight and moral path.

@bconiswhattheycallme9 жыл бұрын
If you can afford not to shoot it...don't. No it doesn't wear out extractors etc. but it runs very dirty and is not that accurate. I shoot PMC but american eagle and most other brass shells are good. Try to stay away from reloads as well.
@11bravo17899 жыл бұрын
+bconiswhattheycallme ive shot steel ammo off and on. It seems to be hold the same accuracy as any brass I shoot. They have been fighting wars in Africa & the middle east on steel ammo for decades. Im not advocating its use. But it is accurate.
@bconiswhattheycallme9 жыл бұрын
+11bravo1789 It holds a degree of accuracy. Russia has used it for decades. It depends on the caliber, bullet weight, brand of steel and brand of brass to compare. In general it is less accurate. If you pick up the brass you could sell it and come close to the type of steel.
