@murder_kitten_84696 жыл бұрын
Wig makers tend to accept non treated hair. 100% natural hair. My friend tried and they wouldn't even take the hair.
@sierrahallegro17276 жыл бұрын
Her hair was dyed, they won’t accept it.
@fusspot576 жыл бұрын
Aww that's a shame. If I was bald through chemo I would be overjoyed to have a wig made from Vivien's shorn locks!
@fusspot576 жыл бұрын
I've just had a look on some hair donation websites and it seems that some will accept hair that is dyed or bleached, as long as there are no colours like blue, green, purpe etc. A small proportion of grey hair can be acceptable too. Hair extensions and dreadlocks are not acceptable. Seems that they are more concerned with length (obviously!). I'm in the UK, maybe rules are different elsewhere depending on the charity.

for everyone in the comments who’s ‘too scared to shave their heads’ just do an undercut! i’ve had one for a few months now bc it’s so nice to feel the freshly cut hair in the back but when i’m not feeling it, i can just have my hair down and no one has to know it’s there

isabelle ayy doesn’t work if you have Afro hair
@isabelleayy9166 жыл бұрын
Kaitlyn D they’re actually very common among girl with ‘afro’ hair. undercuts help get rid of a lot of the unnecessary thickness in your hair so you can wearing it in more styles

lilly mai My mom went through Chemo and radiation 🙂 She had to shave all of her hair. Actually, it mostly came all out with a comb. She wasn’t too sure about her feelings about it until later that night I had too shaved off my hair. It made her feel so much more confident! Not only her but me myself 🙂 My hair is already passed my shoulders. Best decision I’ve ever made 😁

It’s been awhile since these videos started to show up in my recommendations and I’m getting motivated to cut my hair but bot shave it tho, my hair is so so long and it’s been a part of my identity like ppl always refer to me “the girl with the long hair” i love it but since last year i started hating it so much it’s so heavy so thick so wavy and so long! And that’s not a good combination so i think I decided to cut my hair to my collar bones

Shehanna Alharthi I used to have super long thick hair and I cut it all and regretted it, lmao now I’m working on growing it back and getting my hair healthy again. I’d seriously do anything to have my long hair back so yeah. just be careful and try to cut it little by little so you’re sure you like it or try layers!:)

Shehanna Alharthi yeah the change can feel weird but I hope you love it! I’m sure your hair is even more healthy now! and yeah my hair has made some progress, but thanks I’ll try the coconut oil though:) it’s not too bad, I just can’t wait to get it long again haha
@shehannaalharthi92475 жыл бұрын
lauren n also a technic we use here is when you apply the oil to your hair you flip it and massage your scalp for 10 minuets when your head is downwards so the blood cycle gets active in your hair and makes it grow longer if you do that every week or other week! Test it out it’s worth it and thank you for your kind words hope your hair gets long fast

I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome which causes joint instability and my head, neck and upper back have been in so much pain I have been trying to figure out when the time is right for me to shave off my purple dreadlocks that are down to my waist. They are very heavy and I know the weight is contributing to my pain and weakness. I don't know when I'll do it. But I think soon. I have been bald (with bangs and sideburn hair) many times so I don't know why I'm so scared. I love my dreads, it's a huge change. Thank you for showing this transformation and your boldness and bravery to change your appearance in such an extreme way. You look beautiful!

I have Elhers Danlos as well. It’s a hard one to explain to people. One because it’s not very heard of, and two, a lot of the symptoms contradict one another. “So like, you’re hypermobile yet stiff at the same time? You dislocate all your joints but feel like they’re locked?” It sucks. My mom is basically crippled by it but luckily I got it to a much lesser degree than her. I am so glad KZbin has become a platform for uncommon illnesses and syndromes to become widely talked about. I will definitely check out your cousins channel Viv!
@sixmercer25045 жыл бұрын
Well, I still have my dreads. I feel EDS has stolen so much from me....my social life, nearly all my friends, my two very different yet very challenging careers, my business I grew from the ground up, and my ability to earn any money. It has also caused me to gain 50 pound in the past year and a half, after being skinny my entire life which has caused me to be unable to wear any of my favorite clothes and I am now in splints, casts and braces from head to toe, leaving me without my personal style and individuality. Due to the connective tissue disorder I now understand why all of my many tattoos took so much time to heal and caused unimaginable infections, and I have taken out all the metal beads from my dreadlocks and every piercing I have so that I can get my neverending MRI'S and scans from head to toe. I am heading in to surgery for gasteoparesis for a feeding tube which has stopped my ability to eat or even tolerate being around food or food smells. So I have decided that although my arms are way too weak to tighten and fix the extra fuzzies of new growth and the loosening of the roots of my dreads, I have given enough of myself away to this disease and have even begun having seizures now from Dysautonomia syncope. I don't know if or when I might give in and get rid of my hair. But I'm really unhappy with the way I look after all the weight I've gained and can't imagine not having my outward appearance of my individuality after all this disease has taken from me. I really want to do my own KZbin channel about my experience with this illness considering the majority of the people I have seen who do weekly vlogs about it are literally half my age, and the reality of it is that it takes most people more than 20+ years to get the proper diagnosis (as it did me). Unfortunately, I don't have an income or a camera or a laptop to record the vlogs or edit them. So for now, I go to doctor appointment after doctor appointment and surgery after surgery and then I'm home asleep because I'm too tired to do much else. I am so discouraged by having lost my social life and everything I have been interested in, my talent was equestrian which clearly I can't afford or physically tolerate anymore. I was a nurse for 15 years and then a dog groomer for another 10, before all of that I gave riding lessons and went to punk shows. I miss my life. I miss having a life where I could connect with people on any level through my interests. I hate to complain and sound like such a bummer, but I'm just spending my life trying to get through each day. That to me isn't a life. Where is the quality in that? At 44 I have a long road in front of me and just hope that it doesn't continue to only consist of the only social life I have being the countless doctor and specialist appointments I have on such a routine basis. Even just to share my life through KZbin would be so much more inspiring and I'd feel like there's a lot more quality in reaching out that way than just day after day of this same old thing. Thank you for sharing your cousin's channel with me. I will definitely be checking that out. I really appreciate your comments, and appreciate your words of encouragement and support!

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I'm sad to say that one of my (and most women's) thoughts was that I was going to lose all my hair. People may assume it's just vanity, but it is so much more than that. A lot of our self identity is attached to our hair. I can 100% say that losing all my hair was the best thing that's ever happened! I had to reset a lot of notions about how I faced the world because there was nothing to hide behind anymore. I was always told that shaving your head at least once should be on every woman's list. At the time, I wouldn't have had the guts, but I'm glad it happened anyway. Be bold and do it! You'll be surprised how good you look and discover features you've never really noticed. It is the most liberating thing you'll do for yourself. And during lockdown is the perfect time. Hair grows back! I was completely bald at the end of 2017 and now my hair is halfway down my back. It's also a great move if you have damaged hair or want to stop coloring it without dealing with growing the color out. I'd do it again!
