My buddy after high school bought a go cart with a 450 HONDA MOTOR CYCLE ENGINE on it , he had me trouble shoot it ( all axle sprocket bolts SHEARED IN 1/2 ! ) I came over , put in all GRADE 8 BOLTS , did some tuning and test drove it , i RODE A WHEELIE THROUGH FIRST AND SECOND GEAR ! all GRADE 8 BOLTS SHEARED IN 1/2 ! 2 TIMES ! i fixed it a Third time , told him to "sell it " !

I've always wanted a minibike as a kid. It never happened. I was however, lucky enough to have friends that did own minibikes. Ha Back when times were so much more less complicated.

Kenny B same here.. I never had one as a kid growing up (wait that's a lie.. but after the first day my brother came over caught it on fire and it burned up.. and I got whooped for it, cause my brother dipped right afterwards) but anywho I bought 3 now I have 2 kids boy and girl.. we just started this year.. I also bought 4 engines that we are all together going to be building as a family.. it's never to late to bring out the kid in all of us.. but to experience now with my children its priceless.. much love.

I'm disabled and bored so I'm buying a welder soon to make my own balanced frames for racing applications and leisure time cruisers. I recently moved to the #WestSide of Detroit and with the mini bike traffic I see around here, I'm sure to make a dent in the sales of machines out here real soon. That is some serious budget racing! Best of all, you can (most of the time) find a cop-less area to run these things. I doubt the money is as big as street racing in cars, but it seems like these have far less commitment. Way to go figuring out ways to taking the ubiquitous minibikes to levels like this!

@@briannotafan3368 In the mid. 70's my cousin took a 32 horse power sachs snowmobile engine and converter assembly and put it on a standard go cart , it topped out at 110 M.P.H. ! AND he raced and BEAT every muscle car from the 60's and 70's AT NIGHT WITH NO HEADLIGHTS ! All you'd hear is the scream of the 32 h.p. then the howl of a 4 barrel , 6 barrel or 2 - 4 barrels way behind him !

i remember as a kid and racing minibikes at the Saddleback Motorcycle Park in Santiago Canyon, Southern California. I was sponsored and raced for " The Hawk " Racing Team. I rode a modified Zebra Mini Bike, with a 6 horse Techumshe motor punched out with a mikuni 26 carburetor running nitro methane using a torque convertor putting 12 horse to the rear wheel. I was clocked at speeds in access of 60 to 70 miles per hour. Those were the day's.

I had a mini bike with a 8horse Tecumseh snow blower engine on it...I had to ride a passenger on the front to keep from wherlstanding all the time ...I went through clutches like chewing gum!

Early 70's we built a mini bike from hell. Lol. We took a stolen Kawasaki S-1 three cylinder 250 cc two stroke engine and mounted it in an old Cushman scooter frame. A little fab work and some poor welding and that thing would fly. You sat way down low like an old school chopper. Screaming 250 cc between your legs and your ass about 3 inches off the pavement. It was scarey fun. It would do about 70 mph with those fat Cushman tires.

Best of all mini bikes, scooters, mo-peds and go-karts all share the same running gear more or less. With compatibility of performance parts that is easy to build in from the start. Custom variators and centrifual clutch's shared between scooters, karts etc.

WRONG ! decades ago on my mini bike i learned ( first hand ) that a " clutch " is best for acceleration / racing and a " torque converter " is best for hauling more than 1 person / climbing hills .
