daemon and viserys are only 4 years apart in age, viserys however has leprosy which is why he looks that way and the cuts he got from the throne aided in his failing health.

@Der Blutige Neuner Indeed, and Daemon was 48 at the time. They aged several characters up though, they made Viserys older so they could make Rhaenyra older. He fathered Rhaenyra at 20 in the books but they aged Rhaenyra up for the show by 6 years so if they kept Viserys the same age he would have been 14 when she was born.

You want to hear something crazy that I just read about yesterday? the scene where He stumbles and drops his crown and Daemon helps him and puts the crown on his head that was not in the script, It was an accident and they just kept filming and they kept the scene because it ended up being an emotionally powerful moment that they totally improvised.

Viserys isn't as old as he looks. He has leprosy, which is decaying his body. He is roughly 5 or so years older than Daemon. Just goes to show how strong a king he truly was, being able to force himself up to defend his daughter and grandson. He's one of the few pure characters in this world.

Notice Otto was right beside Viserys, but didn't help him up to the throne. Daemon crossed half the courtroom to do so. Daemon kept his promise, even after twenty years. He was there to protect his brother.

This has all the elements of a true Shakesperian tragedy. I am in awe on how both script writers but specially the actors have elevated the source material to these artistic heights. Also these performances are leagues away from anything Emilia Clark or Kit Harrington ever did in GOT.

I think they did an excellent presentation of Alicent in this episode. I'm team Rhae Rhae, but Alicent, characterized as someone who's doing her best to fulfill her duty, it totally makes sense that she would try to seat Aegon II on the throne if she believed that was Viserys' final wish. We, as the audience, know that's not what Vis meant, but there's no way for Alicent to know that. After watching Paddy Considine's performance as Vis, how could anyone say no to Visery's last wishes?

Right before Rhaenyra's speech I paused the show and I prayed. I begged the Lord to please give her the right words to say and I prayed for her strength. I was so so anxious. I’m not sure that the Queen has any standing hearing what he said on his death bed alone. After The king made it clear his daughter would be his heir. Many times and in public. And after the queen herself said at the dinner she would make a fine queen. So the queen suddenly changing her mind & saying the king said his son would be heir w no witnesses and just before his death will be very hard to prove. IMO

The Silent Sisters are not making an autopsy, they are embalming Vaemond. One of the steps is to remove the internal organs, so the body can resists decay for longer. This kind of thing is also done in real life, since the Egyptian Pharaohs times to our days.

Eh, Rheanys' deal kinda makes his point moot. Lucerys would preserve the name and Rheana would preserve the bloodline. Ofc the Targaryans are already heavily intermarried with the Valaryons. Aegon the conqueror's mother was a Valaryon as was Jeaherys' mother. With the exception of Viserys' cousin-wife Aemma being half-Arryn, half Targaryan, all of the external genetic input into the Targaryan bloodline is from the Valaryons at this point due to all the sibling marriages.

The reason viserys looks so old compared to daemon and Otto is because of his illness i think Hera only actually a couple years older than daemon and younger than Otto. His illness just makes his body decay at a very fast rate

The show hasn't specified it but in the books King V dies at 52 and Daemon is around 47. Matt Smith is 40 Yrs old now and looks the same since 15 yrs 😂, so Daemon absolutely can be 45 + and look young.

The scene in the throne room when the crown fell off Paddy's head was unscripted. Matt bent to pick it up and they improvised the rest and went with it. GRRM himself told Paddy that his (Paddy's) version of Viscerys was better than his own (Martin's). The acting chops shown by the entire cast is phenomenal. They are truly picking up the mantle from the first four seasons of GoT and running with it! Knowing what is coming in the next two episodes, the broad strokes from the book at least, is only enhancing my excitement to see how they will make it play out on screen. Lads and lasses, hold on tight. Winter is coming!

They make the rules and expect everyone to follow them without question but as soon as the tables are turned and the rules are used against them they say screw the rules. Team Black is the ultimate example of rules for thee but not for me and I'm not about it.

Then you're not able to handle the order of things. That alone leads to jealousy and irrational behavior. Sometimes, you just need to know your place in the world and accept it. If you can't, then your inability to do that will transform in weakness which will either consume you or push you to act in an irrational way. Crying about injustice won't bring justice. Rhaenyra and Daemon are just as responsible for the problems in the family as Alicent and Otto are but they refuse to take any responsibility for their actions. And in fact will kill anyone who calls them on their faults. Being in charge means you take responsibility for the success AND the failures which they don't do. The Greens aren't very good but neither are the Blacks.. Also it is very easy to say you shouldn't call out every injustice when you're not the one having the injustice done against them.
