This is what I call an all-star line-up living up, and beyond, expectations. Kudos to Jimmy Hall too...but, Paul Schaffer has my total respect for the bringing together of this.

I have a great respect for Joe, I work for a company that Joe works with regularly for non guitar related material , about 15 years ago I was an account exec for his account. I was suprised the first time he called me directly having no idea who he was at the time. We had many conversations over that year about music, musicians and tossed the idea of jamming around a few times as I think he found me unusual as as drummer to have the same ideas and beliefs as him, he offered an invitation to jam with him if I was ever close or visited the warehouse he picked up the stuff ordered from. I still work for the same company and every time I see Joe I am reminded of what a real sincere friendly person this man is I wish I had taken his offer years ago to jam however I still have the memories of our conversations and cherish the respect the man paid to me and in his willingness to shoot the shit every time he called. Im sure Im just one of the many faces over the years and probably I am long forgot but the gift of conversation he gave me will never be forgot and I watch him for that even above his talent because I know the man to be the real deal. One conversation that stuck with me as outstanding was our discussion of handling of business ventures and Joe truly does oversee everything he does it is not delegated or passed off to others that alone is respectable as our fathers once told us both if you want it done right... well you know the rest.

That was great! Got to say Kenny Wayne is the most pure blues and my favorite of all the players there and I think he's fabulous..... but Joe bonamassa is in a class by himself. God bless Paul Shaffer for being there and directing the whole thing to make it great.

Thought the same thing. He looked like an idiot. So many times you see a bunch of guitarist on stage together. When have you ever seen it with a traffic cop giving direction? He looked like the old guy on Soul Train that walked around with a pimp cane pointing at people.
@argus88885 жыл бұрын
He was David Letterman's band leader for decades. Anton Fig was his drummer. Everyone on that stage owes him a gig favour ($) of some kind. Heard of the "Blues Brothers"? Schaffer hand-picked the band members. He can be as much of a 70 year old jackass as he wants and no one there will care. He's helped Blues artists for a long, long time. Hope you enjoy him next year ... at KTBA VI ... :-)
