My dad had an accident in the pool (a simple dive jump) causing him exact paralysis as Christopher Reeves. It happened around the same time too. And when Christopher Reeves died, my dad died not long after. So everytime I see Christopher Reeves, I am always reminded of my dad. They are both Supermans in my eyes.

I remember reading an interview with Christopher Reeve where he talked about being down and depressed in the early days of his injury, until Robin Williams walked into his hospital room, pointed at Reeve's tracheostomy tube and said "Nice tie." He said he immediately started laughing and knew that things could be OK. So sad that they're both gone. Can't wait to watch this.

Today's modern Hollywood is telling me I can't see myself on the big screen if the hero doesn't look like me. Well as a African American high school teen in 1978 I watched Superman with my dad on the big screen and immediately was struck in awe and overwhelming pride for this hero that looked nothing like me. You find your heroes and heroines in anybody that can touch your heart and fill your senses with purpose. That's what Christopher Reeve has always meant to me growing up and continues to do so today. The very best screen incarnation of Superman/Clark Kent, and without a doubt an even greater human being. Rest Well Legend.

Since the age of 5, my son's all-time favorite superhero was Falcon (and now Captain America) from the MCU. This decision was 100% of his own volition, based on his own experiences with the character. It never even occurred to him that Anthony Mackie wasn't the same color as he was. I'm glad to see more representation today, but no one has the right to dictate to us who are heroes should or shouldn't be. Christopher Reeve's Superman was an absolute legend for me and many others. You made a good choice.

"Superman The Movie" was my Star Wars. I saw it in the theater twice, which may not sound like much, but it was unheard of in my family. We rarely went to the movies and to pay twice for the same movie was highly unusual. While other kids were going crazy over Star Wars, I was going crazy over Superman and Christopher Reeve. I collected the cards, fast food glasses, books, and magazines and I drew pictures of Christopher Reeve. I waited patiently for the tv broadcast and recorded it on VHS, watching the tape over and over until it was worn out. For my 50th birthday, my wife rented a theater and had them show Superman: The Movie. It still moves me and gives me chills to this day.

3:02 "I think a hero is an ordinary individual, who finds the strength to persevere and endure, in spite of overwhelming obstacles". This line holds so much wisdom and strength. I pray that everyone has happy and healthy lives. When ill health hits, it can make you realise how true heroes live amongst us in society, who deal with more hardship than we can imagine, that make our everyday struggles seem insignificant in comparison, yet persevere without making a fuss. To all of you I say, you are amazing and you are valued. Cherish life and your health, for it is truly precious. We need more stories like Christopher's brought to the light, that fictional heroes are nice but true heroes are those that live life and persevere. We should be learning from such valuable life experiences. I will be watching this in theatres.

This documentary not only celebrated his life, but it truly gave something back to the fans. He was my hero who I looked up to as a kid. After he had been paralyzed, I had gotten together with my high school student council, and organized a fundraiser in his name for spinal cord injury research. We werent as successful, but knowing you made a difference made a lot of the difference. It makes me sad in a lot of ways because I never met him in real life, but I wish I had....especially towards the end. When I was 4 or 5 years old, I couldn’t walk for a whole year because of polyneuropathy. My nerves were damaged, and I couldn’t really feel or move my legs. It was a tough time, and I don’t remember everything ultra-clearly, but one of the things that stand out- I had a little sticker set of Superman and it was somehow always with me - in all the hospitals, at home and so on. I didn’t think much about it back then, but Superman kind of became a small symbol of hope for me until today. All the doctors said my legs wouldn't get better, and that I’d never walk again. But my mom and grandma never gave up and motivated me to practice every day- try standing up for 1 minute without anyone's help... another day try walking...and so on. And eventually I did it! So this documentary really hits me. Watching Reeve inspire others just feels so personal to me. I still have some issues with my legs, but I can walk and run now, just like any other person. And I’m so grateful for that. It’s amazing to see how Reeve kept inspiring people, even after everything he went through. I think he showed the world that even when life gets hard, you can still make a difference

I cried multiple times during the trailer cause I didn’t only grow up with our original Superman, he was a real SUPER/MAN. Together with longtime friend, the unforgettable Robin Williams. And what makes this story more tragic: Dana Reeve his wife, such a true angel, took great care of him and passed away just 2 years after her husband. Because of lung cancer, but never smoked. And only 44 years of age. Leaving little kids behind. God bless the Christopher and Dana Reeve foundation. Thank you for being a role model. And thank you that now a younger audience can witness and see the story of OUR true SUPER/MAN!

I'm from chile, and Christopher Reeve had in 87 a gesture worthy of the character he represented, that year he travelled to chile to support 77 actors threatened by the dictatorship of Pinochet, he came knowing the risk he was running, and it didn't matter, he had to do the right thing above all, worthy of Superman.

He was a real-life hero beyond the screen. His words, “So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable,” encapsulate his spirit. Even after his passing, his legacy continues to remind us that heroes are made by their hearts, not their capes.
