Very impressive, as a little a kid I watched SM64 speedruns, when I got around to Mario 64 ds I was very excited, I was very disappointed to see that certain tricks like BLJs were patched, it made me feel that this type of stuff wasn’t possible in this game, seeing this makes me very happy, amazing job, keep up the great work, 6 year old me would want an autograph from you. 🙂

Sm64 Ds is one of my most played games of my life, and when I was young I remember I beat 80 stars in 1:50:29 but since I was young, I didn’t have a capture card and didn’t know how to get one or add one to my 3ds

This star is tricky, so I'd firstly recommend a couple of easier strats if you're a beginner. You can jump down to the part right above the star and then turn, and either jump backwards and kick after a while, or backflip, to reach the lower part of the star area. At the start press L. Then hold left until Mario runs onto the snowy part of the ground, and switch to up-left. Long jump when you get near the edge. After that I watch the touch screen, and start holding down-right after the icon of his head passes between the snowy and black parts of the map. After you see Mario starting to move backwards, slide your thumb from down-right to right, to up-right, to up, with the whole movement taking about half a second. Switch between up and up-right if necessary to try and land yourself on the higher part of the platform.

I remember a while back you uploaded two videos demonstrating unlimited coins in ssl and bob, even if there aren't videos to show it is there a list of the maps that are possible to do unlimited coins on? If so where can I find it if it's updated? Awesome run btw

Did you forget that there is owl in TTM?

The owl isn't there until you beat Scale the Mountain (star 1), and isn't useful for any other star in this route. There's another route that unlocks Luigi, and it uses the owl to reach the power flower at the top of the mountain to get the Mysterious Mountainside star. The owl is also used for a couple more stars in 150 Star speedruns.

still dont understand the trick at 7:01 . looked at the replay several times and could never figure it out. is it my version or is there a stratedgy?

Works on every version. If you end up licking rather than doing a slidekick, that's because you have to be grounded and hold R for at least a frame to start crouching. Make sure to recover quickly from each slidekick and you should be able to get it!

Really_Tall honestly i don’t even remember what my old comment said lmao. recently, i did find a different “strategy” without an egg. i would jump into the water and at maximum height, ground-pound to hopefully land close enough to the coins to collect them.

I found a glitch that I never saw before, you can do it on the owl level. The glitch is on the begjnning of the level; it tested it for two days and i found out that that glitch will make the game lag ALOT. More time passes = more lag. When you enter a room it will make you wait 7-20 seconds and black screen will appear and disappear randomly. I tried it on an emulator so I need someone who has an real Nintendo to try it for me, if someone want I will give screenshots. It works with every character i guess.

It has an experts mode and create your own stages compared to super mario maker 2.0. The minimap is can be turned on or off .you can be either mario wario or waluigi.

European version, so there are some minor patches, but the version doesn't really matter for this category.

Really_Tall i guess im just saying if i were to attempt a run on a newer cartridge i wouldn't be able to use most of the skips in for example a run like yours

The only big thing patched on any version is the rabbit glitch used in 150 Star runs, which only works on the original US release. You're fine to run 80 Star, Any%, etc, even 150 if you don't use the glitch, on any version!

It counts for getting the star, and skips the usual star celebration as well as the text for getting 80 stars, so it's slightly faster.
