yeah, 34 people people died in that arson attack, and Kyoto Animation really was into this anime film ;( It may be cheesy, but also charming, I really hope they rise up again! also here's a fun fact, during the aftermath, an American anime licensor called "Sentai Filmworks" started a GoFundMe page and donated to Kyoto Animation. fans also donated to the Japanese anime studio, and other American licensing companies like Aniplex of America, Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Nickelodeon all donated to Kyoto Animation. Adult Swim's anime-oriented block Toonami started their July 20th broadcast, asking viewers to donate to the GoFundMe page set up by Sentai Filmworks.
