Hope you liked the trailer! Id like to answer some frequently asked questions about it and provide some extra info about the mod. But first, please, visit SMWU Gamebanana page for more information and credits along special thanks to people who have been essential for the development: gamebanana.com/wips/74649 First of all, I apologize because of the framerate of the trailer. The gameplay was recorded in my pc which is kind of old and barely supports 60fps performance. But the game works perfectly fine, it won't lag while being played in a good quality pc. This mod is being worked on my own; there's no team behind this whole project. However, I've received a lot of help from such talented modders from the community who have provided a lot of assets, knowledge and ideas. With that being said, SMWU's development is slow. Thats why I cant guarantee any release date or especulation. The mod will be done once it satisfies all of the ideas I've made for it. If you're someone who has ever been interested in mario world modding, you may have noticed a bunch of references to a specific smw mod: New Super Mario World 2. Around The World. Since I played that one mod, I've always wanted to see some of its ideas in a more modern looking Mario game. There is some notably inspo taken from SMB. Next mod aswell. Please check them out! This mod is ONLY playable through emulator for the moment, due to some issues of compatibility with the custom code system it uses. Hopefully, these limitations will disappear and SMWU will have the chance to be playable in console. Anyway, once the mod releases, I'll explain everything you need for installation. But something I can guarantee is that you'll need an original copy of New Super Mario Bros. U. There are intentions for the mod to achieve around six different worlds, although some worlds are split into different sections (You may find World 1A and World 1B), with totally different vibes and adventures. SMWU is intended to be a single player mod, since I'd rather design levels without any limitations. Merry christmas to everyone, hope you've enjoyed this little gift. I mean this as a total compliment by saying that this is 2D Mario uncanny valley. It uses the base of NSMBU but it really captures the Mario Wonder charm! The game looks splendid, keep the good job

Crazy what you archived with this mod, it feels like a new game, the texture work is amazing and the costum enemy and abilitys and new mecanics are incredible. To see the flying flagpole was jaw dropping for me. Take all the time you need for this, very excited for the future of this mod

The amount of custom elements thrown into this... holy crack. The first trailer did still have a bit of a mod feeling, but this now almost looks like a complete fan game, it has nothing to do with NSMBU anymore wtf I sure hope those enemies get some more appropriate sounds and stuff, and there'll be tons of different music, for the bosses for example. But I'm so excited to finally play this at some point I also love how you don't promise us a release date or something. Many modders would put a release date for 2025, then extend development until 2027 and then drop it completely. I hope this doesn't left behind!!!

Oh wow this looks pretty damn good. Not only does the level design look really interesting with some clever secrets and setpieces, but there seems to be a ton of awesome new stuff here too, like new enemies and obstacles not usually found in New Super Mario Bros U. Cloudy U 2 was a pretty good “successor” to what could’ve been Newer U, even if it was shorter than an entire game. Apparently, they had some pretty ambitious plans for Newer U, which included a completely different set of world themes from Newer Wii.

Take your time with the mod for sure. If you want a suggestion for a water boss, might be hard to program, but you should definitely add Cheep-Skipper from New Super Mario Bros. DS. That’s my only suggestion if you want some other boss ideas let me know.

So many enemies that never had the chance to make an appearance in the New Super Mario Bros Series (even Poulbas, original Cheep Chomp and charging chucks, Birdo as a boss....). It's just insane.
