This is one of the most difficult gaming achievements of my life. It certainly lives up to its reputation. I’ll keep it real with you. With my years of experience with Geometry Dash and other platform games, I was able to pick up Super Meat Boy relatively quickly, and it was not long before I started to really rack up achievements in the game. At one point, I was pulling off at least one full deathless run every other day or so. I was getting fairly confident that I could 100% this game without running into too much trouble, but then came Impossible Boy. Impossible Boy is the hardest achievement in the game. Not only do you have to beat the 20 hardest levels in the game without dying, but you also have to deal with the fact that they are the least consistent levels in the game. Who was it that decided that levels 7, 8, and 15 were a good idea? Who decided to make a level that requires you to jump a million times (level 2) in a game where it randomly decides to eat your inputs every once in a while? All I’ll say is, I really enjoyed my time with Super Meat Boy, except for Impossible Boy. I feel like despite its insane difficulty, it still manages to play very smoothly and be a lot of fun. It was easy to kill hours in the game without realizing it. I wish I had recorded my runs with all of the other deathless achievements, but I’m pretty happy that I at least captured the hardest four. With all of that being said, it took me 9714 deaths and 61 hours of gameplay to complete everything. I would only ever recommend this to someone with a lot of persistence and who can handle playing the same levels hundreds, if not thousands, of times.
