@greensun1334 Not only that it was a huge nightmare and day difference in thr quality of the port vs MK1. I was so happy with the SNES version back then that when I eventually got a 32X and traded for that version, I ended up rebuying the SNES version after a few days cause I liked it better. When I do go back and play the Genesis MK2 though, I'm always surprised how good it is for the hardware. Especially when comparing to the over rated MK1 port on Genesis.

@@itchyisvegeta indeed, the difference between SNES and Genesis MK2 was like day and night. Altrough not a bad port, I was disappointed by the 32X version as well, it was just like a slightly enhanced Genesis version, but it plays worse. To this day, the SNES version is my favourite port of the game

How long did you play each game? You gave the win to snes several times with games that are well known for being way better on sega. Cool spot on snes, for example, is croped which makes jumps in the later stages very hard. And the best music in the game, the bonus stage, is way cooler on sega. Desert strike on snes plays slow and is croped which makes an already hard game frustrating. Seems like you just "tested" the games and did not really play them.

2:45 This is so wrong, Battletoads and Double Dragon on SNES game has very big problems with gameplay and less music than Genesis! The best version belongs to original game from NES!

Loving these comparison videos between similar systems - especially considering how amazing these 16-bit systems are, even now imo. I always disagree with at least some of your opinions, but whatever, I do enjoy hearing them regardless. I always chuckle when you say that you never want to play a game again... EVER!! 1:55 oh, this game works… but it’s best on the NES. Believe it or not, the original Nintendo/Famicom version just plays better than its 16-bit brethren.

Man, the resolution difference that leads to the screen stretching and cropping on the SNES is a LOT more noticeable on multiplats than I realized at the time!

Right, but you used Genesis audio against itself with emulator audio deficiencies on the death of Superman segment. Real hardware sounds pretty decent and not ear piercing at all. A lot of people use Genesis audio to determine a emulators accuracy when it comes to stuff like this

Yeah, I thought the Genesis sounded off in many instances throughout the video... It may be worth it to check against the original hardware when a game sounds weird, and switch to a more up to date emulator with more accurate sound.

I never played Rock and Roll Racing, I grew up with Combat Cars. I immediately recognized the melody from Black Sabbath Paranoid while watching this. That’s pretty cool they used real songs in the game.

I was one of those who got that clay fighter for the snes for Xmas that year 😂😂 but I already had mk sf etc so I kinda enjoined it for a while a short while lol and every other game on here wow them was fun times 👍🏿

Sega Genesis sports titles were much smoother to play. I had both consoles. "Blast processing" must of been a real thing. I think many SNESers childhood fondness of the original NES makes them think the SNES was better than it actually was. Too many slow boring titles. Just my opinion

Oh, man. “Terminator 2” on the SNES. I really wanted to like this game: a game based on one of my all-time favorite movies, on the SNES, probably my all-time favorite console. Surprisingly, I don’t hate this game. It’s more apt to say: “I’m not mad, I’m disappointed.” I probably gave this game more chances than it deserves; and I actually got a little over halfway through it. But by then, it’s too brutally difficult to where it’s not even fun. One ridiculous thing: you actually fight the T-1000 at Enrique’s farm! I’m serious. That is actually in the game. 😮

@ Yes, not only the driving itself, but that there’s no way to attack and defend yourself without crashing into other vehicles and taking damage. And the further you get in the game, the more the police cars will swarm and crash into you and make it nearly impossible to get anywhere.

I think it comes down to which model and which controller for the sega genesis. If its model 1 and a six button controller its genesis. If its model 2 or 3 with a 3 button controller it's SNES. If its model 2 or 3 with a six button controller its a draw. If its model 1 with a 3 button its SNES.

While I preferred the Genesis growing up, you are DEFINITELY blinded by nostalgia as I'm watching this video. Went from playing Genesis Mortal Kombat 2 to Super Nintendo Mortal Kombat 2 as a teenager and the Super NES port blew my mind how much better it is. Genesis has fewer colours, worse sound, and is clunkier compared to the superior SNES version.

Super Mario world. -72 stages -24 secret exits -Co-op -Fluid controls. -9 power ups -10 boss fights. -10+ hours to 100% Sonic 2 (my personal favorite Sonic game) -20ish levels -0 alternate pathways. -Multiplayer -Fluid controls -4 power ups -10 boss fights -2 hours to 100% Sonic 2 isn’t bad, and is the best Genesis title in my opinion, but objectively it is worse than Super Mario world.

Super Nintendo, of course is a newer and more advanced system, nonetheless, I do prefer SEGA to sound like a video game and I do prefer the rectangle resolution than the Super nintendo.
