So I've seen a few comments regarding the music. I mentioned this in the description, but since you may not have clicked "show more," I'll say it again here. The music is not confirmed to be tied to the boss enemy, when I was recording this there was in fact, no music at all (hacked enemies or not; I think it was an emulator glitch). So I don't really know what the music would do in these situations on a console (or without whatever glitch was disabling it here), I added the music while editing the footage later. Sorry about that :(

plot twist, the field scene at the end of credits was just a dream. After making their sacrifice, tippi and bleck are doomed to forever relive the events of the game again and again cause of actions made that mess up the spatial/dimensional planes from the events in the game. Resulting in a perpetual time loop. Bleck just decided, after a certain number of tries, to stop the heroes before even meeting up. Didn't work out for him XD

I know this is an old comment, but considering the platforms can do their own attacks according to the wiki, it makes sense they’re spawned in by Super Dimentio instead of being set pieces.

@@l1ghtd3m0n3 yeah, in the time since i've made that comment i've seen more and more weird cases where external elements are integral to the boss's mechanics so i've started to understand it a bit more. (not in SPM just in general) like one odd case is Shan Yu from Kingdom Hearts 2, if you use hacks to change the map you battle him in, the palace's door gauge comes with him since it's an alternate death condition of the fight. (no idea if the door actually spawns somewhere though)

Very late response, but from what I can tell Croacus' reach is calculated relative to the size of the room he's in, rather than always being the same. Since normally he's only fought in a room designed for him, you never see oddities. Another theory is that since his boss room is small enough to where he can hit Mario wherever he is if Mario's idle, they didn't program a limit to his reach.

I actually played around with this a lot more than what's shown in the video, including other bosses like Bonechill, who I tested the Pal Pills on. They deal normal damage (as opposed to no damage which is what Mario was doing on his own at such a low level iirc) and still only survive if they bounced rather than running into the boss. Mega Star I'm not sure about, I'd have to do the enemy replacements in a room that already has a Mega Star but I'm actually quite curious about triggering a cutscene such as Count Bleck's while under the Mega Star.

In this video I was technically at the beginning of the game and wasn't using a "have all characters" code, but yes if you use a character other than Mario for that cutscene, there will be 2 of them. Goes for most cutscenes where multiple player characters appear, for instance you can fight Bowser as Bowser, though some scenes will correct themselves (for instance if you beat Francis with Luigi, the following cutscene will still only have Mario, Peach and Bowser, but be careful with Luigi if you hack him in earlier than normal as a lot of chapter intermissions will crash if he is active after the Timpani+Blumiere flashback and if you saved during that intermission, rip the save file)

Doubtful. I used a hex editor to change the value of the Squiglet. It would take someone far more knowledgeable than me to figure out how to edit the level layouts, since the only part of the file I know anything about is where that Squiglet is.

No text event was programmed to begin in this cutscene if it were anywhere else than the intended location so it filled the regular dialogue boxes with a filler/you are not supposed to see this message error text. turns out the error text for super paper mario was a number of .......'s.

Fun fact, you can actually get the "......" message in normal gameplay without hacking or glitching anything. In 7-2 before you fight Bowser, you're not supposed to see him until the darkness goes away, but if you're in 3D you can tattle him, in which Tippi gives that message.
